Aims of the project :

- To offer a fair, communal and sustainable alternative to the actual offer of global tourism that leads to dismantled effects at the social, economic and environmental levels. The fundamental values of the project are common with fair tourism : as the inside of the island is still rarely visited, it is to make the locals using the touristic potential of these places and to be actors and beneficiaries of this development, while respecting human beings and the preservation of the land.

- To create a new source of income for the locals who are part of the project and who are living in the inside of the island, thus increasing the local economy.

- To promote authentically meetings between travelers and locals. In order to reach this point, there is nothing better than sharing the everyday life of a local family. Moreover hiking with a donkey arises the interest and is a good way to start communicating and sharing.

- To highlight and make people discover the culture, traditions and crafts of Cape Verde.

What’s next in the project :

If we exceed our initial fund collect, the additional money will be used for the layout of a new room in another family of the village on Santiago’s island. On a long-term scale, the idea is to build a network of several families and to offer various tours across the island, from home to home and at a donkey’s pace.
