'Taking The Plunge' is a musical journey rooted in the early emotions Malo felt when he discovered jazz at the age of six, playing an old cornet he found in the attic. The melodies of Bix Beiderbecke, Louis Armstrong, and Jelly Roll Morton were the soundtrack of his childhood, and now he reinterprets them with a fresh and inspiring perspective. The album also includes eight original compositions, each reflecting Malo Mazurié's deep understanding of jazz across eras. These pieces shine like treasures from the past, while adding a contemporary and personal touch that defines Malo's unique style. This project brings together an exceptional group of musicians, longtime collaborators who share a profound musical connection. Together, they have created an ensemble sound reminiscent of the 1930s, while exploring new frontiers in modern jazz.
