In times of economic crisis and the search for competitiveness, it is essential to find lasting solutions and create values. The design is one of these solutions ; it gives a new breath and put the companies and creators on the path of growth. The designer is able to look forward, anticipate needs, and to synthesize market constraints.
But how can a young designer freshly graduated meet this market?
Recently graduated and facing a competitive and saturated job market, we have chosen to highlight and share our skills. We had the idea to divert an innovative concept, the pop up store, not to promote a product or a brand, but to promote young designers and their »savoir-faire ». It is also a response to a space problem and financial resources faced by many designers.
We offer an alternative vision of the store at a time when consumers increasingly demand transparency, answers and new links with the creator of the product purchased.
Give a chance to young designers:
After a successful first London edition, the Pop-Up Design in Paris will place together several artists and designers from different areas and different cultures, thereby creating a unique environment that will generate interactivity and create a relevant idea of the contemporary scene.
The uniqueness of this event will be dedicated to design objects, accessories, designer clothes but also artistic encounters, combining savoir-faire and talent. The ambition is to generate a new shopping experience, the discovery of young European designers through a sharp and original choice of products that awake the curiosity of the public but also by original activities: Fashion, Jewellery, Accessories, Stationery, Books , Furniture / Design Event ... and an event part with workshops, a space for organic coffee and pastries, and DJ Set / Live acoustic alternative.
Selection around the founding values of the Pop-Up Design: eco-design, quality and integrity:
The exhibitors will be selected for the quality of their products and their commitment to
founding values of the Pop-Up Design. If the eco-design has become in recent years a great marketing tool, it is much more than that for us. The English word better reflects the idea of eco-design. In English, we speak of "sustainable design", a word that can be linked to "support”. Sustainable design becomes a way to create, produce and consume inducing a cycle between creative producers and consumers in which no one should be neglected. So we advocate the values and quality of work as a competitive advantage.
Connect with consumers in an innovative store concept:
Pop-Up Design aims to develop networks and help creating a link between consumers and creators as well as helping creators to access visibility. It offers an alternative vision of the store at a time when consumers increasingly demand transparency and answers. It allows consumers to better understand the product and the designer to better understand its customers. It is then a dialogue and it is our role as designers to think how to create this dialogue (display, visual identity, signage ...).
We also believe that the key to success is sharing. The Pop-Up Design relied on shared knowledges and savoir-faire. Rich of experiences and studies in fashion, textiles, luxury retail, marketing and a number of unofficial collaborators, we want to develop a new concept of pop-up store and allow everyone to evolve.
