The Worm Hole

---------(English version below !)---------- « The Worm Hole » (Le trou de ver ») est une installation artistique qui aura lieu à Borderland (un festival co-créé à Alversjö, en Suède) cet été en Juillet. Il s'agit de ma 1ère installation artistique de grande ampleur (3m x 3m x 2m), qui rencontrera un large public (2500 participants) ! Le projet « The Worm Hole » est à la fois une porte, une créature et une expérience à vivre. Se tenant silencieusement au milieu de la forêt, on le rencontre comme par surprise. Il semble nous poser une question – la question que nous seuls pouvons connaître, la question qui doit nous être posée. Il nous invite à être avalé, à trouver nos propres réponses dans ses profondeurs. La face avant sera entièrement peinte, pleine de couleurs et de détails. À l'intérieur, un tunnel hors du temps, une sombre forêt de stalactites et une atmosphère sonore rappelant un univers intra-utérin. Il ne sera pas si facile à traverser, car il y aura quelques pièges à passer... La face arrière sera recouverte de miroirs et de branchages : en se retournant après l'avoir traversé, il se fondra dans son environnement et semblera disparaître. Était-ce un rêve, ou un mirage ? Pourquoi ce projet est si important pour moi ? The Worm Hole sera mon tout premier projet artistique de grande taille et qui bénéficiera d'une telle visibilité ! Le Worm Hole est donc une étape importante dans mon parcours artistique. A titre personnel, réaliser un projet de cette ampleur m'aidera vraiment à propulser ma confiance en moi sur le plan artistique. Cela m'apprendra à concevoir une grande installation, à coordonner une équipe, à peindre une grande fresque, à travailler le bois, à lever des fonds et à communiquer... Comme certaines femmes se sentant invincibles après avoir accouché... J'ai l'impression que je me sentirais invincible après avoir donné naissance à une telle oeuvre. Et je suis tout près de pouvoir le faire ! J'ai déjà reçu 500 euros de financements artistiques de Borderland. Deux autres participants, Michel et Dana, sont prêts à m'aider pour la construction - j'ai donc déjà une partie des fonds et une équipe qui soutient le projet ! Ce dont j'ai encore besoin Le projet coûtera 1200 euros au total (voir détails plus bas) - il me reste donc à trouver 700 euros. Pouvez-vous m'aider à réaliser mon premier grand rêve artistique ??? Il se tiendra fièrement pendant 1 semaine dans un magnifique cadre naturel, où les 2500 participants du festival auront l'occasion d’interagir avec lui. Puis sera démonté et ne laissera aucune trace derrière lui. Qui est derrière ce projet ? Je m'appelle Milène et je suis artiste en devenir. Je suis basée à Bruxelles où je pratique principalement les arts visuels (peinture, dessin) et la danse (danse contemporaine, pole danse). J'ai étudié les Beaux Arts pendant 2 ans et je suis désormais en formation pour devenir at-thérapeute. Milène ------------English version----------- "The Worm Hole" is an art installation that will take place at Borderland (a co-created festival in Alversjö, Sweden) this summer in July. This will be my first large-scale art installation (3m x 3m x 2m), which will meet a large audience (2500 participants)! The project "The Worm Hole" is a gate, a creature, and an experience. Standing silently in the middle of the forest, it is met as if by surprise. It seems to ask us a question – the question that only we can guess, the question that must be asked to us. It invites us to be swallowed, to find our own answers in its depths. The front side will be fully painted, full of color and details. Inside, an out-of-space tunnel, a dark forest of stalactites with an intra-uterine sound atmosphere. It will not be so easy to cross, as there will be some traps to pass... The back side will be covered with mirrors and branches: when turning back after crossing it, it will seem to blend into its surroundings, and disappear. Was it a dream, or a mirage? Why is this project so important to me? The Worm Hole will be my very first large-scale artistic project that will benefit from such visibility! The Worm Hole is therefore an important step in my artistic journey. On a personal level, carrying out a project of this magnitude will really help me boost my artistic self-confidence. It will teach me to design a large installation, to coordinate a team, to paint a large mural, to work with wood, to raise funds and to communicate... Like some women feeling invincible after giving birth... I I have the impression that I will feel invincible after giving birth to such a work. And I'm very close to being able to do it! Two other participants, Michel and Dana, are ready to help me with the construction. We have already received 500 euros in artistic funding from Borderland. So there is already part of the funds and a team supporting the project ! What i still need The project will cost 1200 euros in total (see details below) - so I still have to find 700 euros. It will be proudly standing for 1 week in a beautiful natural setting, where the 2500 festival participants will have the opportunity to interact with it. Then will be dismantled and leave no trace behind. Who is behind this project? My name is Milène and I am a young artist. I am based in Brussels where I mainly practice visual arts (painting, drawing) and dance (contemporary dance, pole dance). I studied Fine Arts for 2 years and I am now training to become an at-therapist.
