Un abri pour l'orphelinat Ougandais Agape

Justine Nyanzi (mama Hope as the kids call her) is running a private orphanage in Kampala, Uganda.

In this African country, the life expectancy at birth is around 54 years. Meaning many people die earlier, leaving children without parents to take care of them.

At the moment, she is offering shelter and love to 29 children and also feeding many street kids every day. On the photo below are some of the children Mama is taking care of, including Daniel, John, Chastity, Queen, Raschida and Claire.

She is receiving no support from the government and runs the orphanage on the salary of her husband (a us driver), the money she gets from odd jobs and the sol help of the community. At the moment she shares her 2 bedrooms house with all the girls of the orphanage and is renting the neighboring house to accommodate the boys.

To improve the situation of the kids (food, school fees, clothes...), she teamed up with our foundation 'Yoba for life'. Mama learned how to make and sell probiotics yogurt a few months ago. She also saves some of the production to feed the children

One of the mottos of our foundation is 'for the Africans, by the Africans'. Its goal is to help empowering people like Mama Hope and improving the health of Ugandan children. Yoba was started in 2009 and has

a PBO status. The foundation has already helped Ugandan to market their products and help their communities. For more infos, please visit our website: www.yoba4life.com

A few weeks ago, a storm tore down the orphanage production shelter facility of the orphanage and Mama has no money to pay for it reconstruction. Now, they have to produce yogurt outside, by the road, and are dramatically affected by the weather conditions. This makes the production a lot more difficult...

Because despite the general idea, Uganda has three rainy seasons and on many days Mama has to produce under pouring rain. Also, a good hygiene during the production is essential. If the preparation gets contaminated, the yoghurt will be spoiled and cannot be sold. This makes a big loss on the orphanage budget.

We have made an estimation for the cost of constructing a new production facility shelter, protecting from the rain and the dust with a local builder, Bernard. The cost for such a shelter is around 900 euros. This price includes 280 euros for the construction done by Bernard, 600 euros for the materials and 20 euros for the paint.

Allocation of funds

We need 900 euros to realize this project. The money will build the production shelter at the orphanage and help Justine to produce yogurt in better conditions. Hopefully with this, she will be able to increase her production and generate more money for the orphanage.

If we get more money than asked, your donations will be given to Justine and use in the orphanage.
