Zoungou Project

<p> It’s the story of a young couple of doctors. That will be qualified in 2 months and they would like to help poverty through a local NGO. This project involves delivering medical equipment and assistance. We will travel by van from Belgium to Guinea where the NGO is based in Conakry. Besides providing the material we will volunteer our time by providing general practice medicine. One of our goals is to create a long term partnership with this NGO. The NGO has a broad spectrum of services they provide. From malnutrition, infectious disease (Tuberculosis, HIV, Malaria and other parasitic diseases) to general practice, obstetrics and mental health. The action of this NGO is within 5 communities within the capital and extends beyond as they partner with others in rural areas. You can find more information about them at <a href="http://www.fmg-ong.org/" target="_blank">http://www.fmg-ong.org</a> On this journey we will have with us two friends that are musicians and handy men. They will help us to deliver the materials to our destination. They will also give us a precious hand when we arrive. The trip and our free time will be dedicated to jazz and swing music. We will present our music from Morocco to Guinea passing through Mauritania and Senegal. You can find some of our music through the following link: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mH2Z7_yJEqo" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mH2Z7_yJEqo</a></p> <p> <iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="304" src="//cdn.embedly.com/widgets/media.html?src=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fembed%2FWsnNHx170gU%3Fwmode%3Dopaque%26feature%3Doembed&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DWsnNHx170gU&amp;image=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2FWsnNHx170gU%2Fhqdefault.jpg&amp;key=ff2702755d9749cda571c6d6c2f3eb46&amp;type=text%2Fhtml&amp;schema=youtube" width="540"></iframe></p> <p>  </p> <p> <iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="304" src="//cdn.embedly.com/widgets/media.html?src=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fembed%2FmH2Z7_yJEqo%3Fwmode%3Dopaque%26feature%3Doembed&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DmH2Z7_yJEqo&amp;image=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2FmH2Z7_yJEqo%2Fhqdefault.jpg&amp;key=ff2702755d9749cda571c6d6c2f3eb46&amp;type=text%2Fhtml&amp;schema=youtube" width="540"></iframe></p> <p>  </p> <p> <u><strong>- The Team</strong></u></p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>The boys:</strong></p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="11053921_10153418947630661_5790545342255632146_n-1488371675" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/398043/11053921_10153418947630661_5790545342255632146_n-1488371675.jpg"></p> <p> -<strong>Thomas</strong>: Our saxophonist who feeds us with his breathtaking solos, real strength of nature, with a heart as big as a mountain, the one who will know how to pull us out when the trucks break down.</p> <p>  </p> <p> -<strong>Gerome</strong>: The globe trotter: Is there still a country that he has not visited? Far from the tourist, he is a real nomad, who has made the world his home. Brimming with resourcefulness, an electrician by trade, converted into a farmer and a fan of permaculture.</p> <p>  </p> <p> -<strong>Francois</strong>: Carpenter who gave up everything 7 years ago to embark on medical studies specifically to devote his life to humanitarian calling. Arriving today at the end of his studies, he enthusiastically embarks on this medical adventure before returning to Belguim to resume emergency training in order to start study all over again.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="123-1488388479" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/398207/123-1488388479.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>and Els</strong>: Young doctor in training in general and tropical medicine, she is the one who knows Africa best and the reality of it, after having worked four months at a hospital in Kampala in Uganda.
