Nous trouvons notre matière première, le bambou, localement, c'est-à-dire aux îles Togean, à proximité de notre terrain dans un rayon de 15 km environ, sur l'île Waleakodi ou sur des îles voisines.

We get our raw material (bamboo) locally, which means in the Togean islands, in about a 15-km radius from Lia Beach, wether on Waleakodi (the island where our land is) or on neighboring islands.

Lia Beach embauche plus d'une trentaine de personnes sur le projet (du traitement du bambou à la finalisation des bungalows en passant par l'aménagement du terrain), habitant toutes les îles Togean sauf les 3 experts bambous (assurant la formation aux techniques bambou), originaires de la région de Tentena (à environ 200 km).

Lia Beach hires over thirty people on the project (from bamboo treatment to completion of bungalows, and including site settlement works), all of them living in the Togean islands, except for the 3 bamboo experts (in charge of the training to bamboo techniques), who are from the Tentena area (about 200 km away).

First of all, given the distance, accept our apologies if shipping delays are longer, since we live in a very isolated area, where communication means are slower. Here's our estimated deadline for sending the rewards:

- postcards from the Togean islands: April 2016
- other items sent by mail (bags, photo book, etc...): May and June 2016

En effet, il s'agit de réimplanter les techniques ancestrales du bambou aux îles Togean. Si l'utilisation du bambou se vérifie pour des petits objets usuels comme les échelles, depuis longtemps les habitants construisent en bois car c'est plus simple à travailler.

It is indeed about reestablishing traditional bamboo techniques in the archipelago. Bamboo has actually been used for objects (ladders, ashtrays...), but locals tend to use wood for construction because it's easier to work with.
