<strong>Un mot sur nous, comment on s’est rencontré et comment ce projet est né</strong></p>

D'après Bad Mr. Bassman, on s'est rencontré en 6ème pendant que je grimpais un arbre pendant la récré. En fin d’année il a changé d’école et on s’est complètement perdu de vue.</p>
<p>
</p>
<p>
Ce n’est que 11 ans plus tard que l’on s’est recroisé par hasard dans un bar de notre ville. On s’est rappelé toutes les conneries qu’on a faites au collège, et puis on a commencé à parler musique. Je lui ai raconté que je m’étais mis sérieusement au rap depuis 6-7 ans et que j’avais sorti deux projets sous un autre nom de scène. Il m'a invité à passer le voir dans son studio. Il venait d’être diplômé d’une école d’arts audio visuels aux Etats Unis (Full Sail University). Ah, et il s'est avéré que c’était un monstre à la basse. Bien sûr, la suite logique : « Mec si t’es chaud, on essaie de faire un vrai album, nos propres chansons, notre musique à nous, pas d’instrus téléchargées. Ca fait longtemps que je cherche quelqu’un avec qui faire ça. Si t’es chaud… moi j’ai pas de plans cet été… on s’y met à fond et on voit ce qu’on est capable de faire ! »</p>

<strong>La conception de Dark Screens</strong></p>

<p>
La conception de cet album était magique. Comment on a kiffé passer des journées de 15h en studio entrain de jouer des riffs et d’écrire des rimes ! On était prêt à tout pour trouver ces sons qui mêleraient nos deux univers, trouver ces sons qui nous feraient chanter. Si vous nous demandiez comment on a eu telle ou telle idée ou d’où nous est venue l'inspiration, on vous répondrait sûrement : je ne sais pas, on jouait et tout d’un coup ça nous est tombé dessus. On m’a dit un jour que la chance c’était le moment où le travail acharné rencontrait l'opportunité. C'était incroyable d’avoir notre studio dans lequel on pouvait passer toutes nos journées et d’avoir le luxe de pouvoir appuyer sur le bouton "enregistrer" pendant des sessions à 5h27 du mat! </p>

Je me souviens que les premiers sons stylés qu’on a fait ensemble, c’était celui de nos fronts qui s’écrasaient sur nos tables en cours d’histoire au collège. On était dépité quand la prof annonçait nos notes en nous gueulant dessus.</p>

<em>On s’était promis que la batterie dans nos chansons taperait plus fort que ça. Et vous savez quoi : c’est le cas !!!</em></p>

Faire de cet album un projet collaboratif était essentiel à nos yeux. Travailler avec les meilleurs musiciens qu'on connaissait était un moyen de faire de Grey Patch Studios un endroit d’effervescence des styles. Tous ces musiciens ont lâché des solos de guitare et de sax incroyables, des loops de folie et des mélodies qui vous resteront en tête ! Jamais on pouvait imaginer qu’un jour on aurait un album de cette qualité là ! C’est dingue ! Ca va être fou de créer un set live et d’aller jouer nos morceaux sur scène ! On n'attend que ça !</p>

Chaque artiste a marqué cet album de son propre style et de ses propres influences. Dark Screens est un album fusion, qui place une grosse base Hip-Hop à l’intersection du Jazz, de la Funk, et du Rock n' Roll.</p>

Pour la post production de cet album, nous avons eu la chance de travailler avec Scott Hull des studios Masterdisk, situés à New York. Scott est un vétéran de l’industrie de la musique, spécialisé dans les projets fusion. Il a notamment travaillé avec des artistes comme Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Jay-Z, et Nirvana. On n’arrive toujours pas à croire qu’il ait accepté de prendre le temps de travailler sur notre album.</p>
