10e concert estival de Julie Scolnik au vieux village d'Eygalieres 2016

<p> Ever since my husband Michael and I began spending our summers in Eygalières, I have presented a free concert for the village as a way of expressing my gratitude for the warm welcome we have felt here. I have found it incredibly moving to see everyone come together to fill the town church, or last year, outside, at Place des Pago-Tard, where listeners perched on stone walls and children danced to the music. Many people count on this concert and love that it is accessible to everyone.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Thumb_unknown_1024-1462713121" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/313376/thumb_Unknown_1024-1462713121.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p> This year, in order to celebrate my 10th concert here, I invited back the wonderful pianist Aurélien Pontier, as well as Trio Jacob (<a href="http://www.triojacob.com" target="_blank">http://www.triojacob.com</a>) an amazing string trio based in Paris. With this combination we can play an ambitious and varied program worthy of a ten-year celebration! We will be playing a program of Mozart, Liszt, Brahms, and Dvoräk.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="11709763_1107458132602508_4757561529485414406_n-1_1024-1462713080" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/313373/11709763_1107458132602508_4757561529485414406_n-1_1024-1462713080.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p> As last year, the concert takes place at Place des Pago-Tard, an open space on the way up the hill at the center of Eygalières. Surrounding the place are medieval stone houses and trees filled with cigales, whose chirping dies out with the setting sun just as the concert begins. There is space for about 100 seated on chairs in the place, and many more on the surrounding walls. Some bring their own chairs. It is truly an idyllic spot to experience the intimacy of chamber music.</p> <p>  </p> <p> Thank you for anything you can contribute to this concert for the village.</p>
