BLACKBIRD is a startling, uncommon text with rugged, challenging language. The intense exchanges manifest uncertainty and the deep, conflicted emotions of the protagonists.

BLACKBIRD depicts the reunion of a still young woman and a man who is no longer. They have not seen each other in 18 years and through them, despite them, we discover the event which turned their lives upside down and ultimately separated them.

BLACKBIRD premiered earlier this year at the Lucernaire (Paris) to an enthusiastic public. Response from both critics and members of the audience was overwhelmingly positive, intensely personal.

We are thus encouraged to take Blackbird to the Festival d'Avignon.
