Inspired by Do it Yourselves cultures, Draft 001 is an independant publication laid out as a research diary. What is Draft001?
Draft 001 is an independant publication released once a year. It is first and foremost a space for experimentation. We dive into art communities, look at singular personnalities and collaborate with makers and artists in fashion, photography and visual arts to offer original editorial content. The magazine explores all kind of practices found in designers and artists studios, in art and design schools, as well as in marginal or amateur spaces. Our goal is to set up a dialogue between artistic disciplines, to showcase and share creative processes, while celebrating errors and spontaneity ! A magazine as well as an art book, Draft 001 is an object we reinvent issue after issue. The creative freedom afforded to the editorial team and the contributors allow them to reinvent editorial formats and line to fit with their projects and desire. We are also expanding our experimental approach to other mediums and formats with public programming (events, exhibitions, parties...) What are we cooking up? After exploring chaos and creation in our "Big Bang" issue, our next theme will deal with "parade". Praising unproductive expenditures and collective disorganisation, this issue invites you to discover contemporary avatars of the carnalesque. Our contributors will delve into worlds of dreams (rêves) and raves. They will make you cross over alternatives and imagined spaces and temporalies, and reinvent rituals and traditions. With this issue, we want to reflect collectively on the forms and values we want to defend or overturn upside down — temporarily or permanently ! Inspirations for Issue n°1 Extraits du n°0 : Big Bang
Who is part of Draft 001 ? Draft 001 started out thanks to the encounters and friendships between five fashion and art professionals. How will we use the fundings? Draft 001's team works voluntarily. The 200 pages of our first issue were completely self-financed. For our next issue, the contributors' remuneration (€4000) will be entirely paid thanks to our sales and personal investments. The fundings of the campaign will cover the printing as well as the crowdfunding's rewards and their shipment costs. Goal: €6500! Once we hit this goal, we will be able to print and launch our new issue in July 2022! Printing costs — €5000 Kisskissbankbank campaign related costs — €1500 What if we receive more than €6500? From €8500: Our graphist's fee is completely covered. We can to allocate budget and product our launch event (stay tuned!)
