"Human Rights in questions " : a traveling survey on Human Right's mixity among nations

Hello everybody ! Welcome on my page for the project "Human Rights in questions." Before I start asking my questions to those Men and Women, I will try to asnwer yours.

(Follow me on Facebook and also on my personal website)

Why doing this project ?

Human Rights: this is a concept that everyone knows. The opposite would have been surprising, since by definition, human rights are intended to relate to any person, without distinction.

Studying during five years in a Law School taught me a lot about Human Right's protection and develpment.

I was immediately seduced by this notion as it was presented to me : a universal and comfortable concept on whivh all of us would be allowed to rest.

But what I did not have the opportunito learn is what we learn by doing internships in the field of Human Rights: it is the law, and then there is practice. There are human rights as a universal concept, and their variations according countries and cultures.

What am I going to do ?

The aim of my project is to report the flexibility of Human Rights's notion on contact of peoples.

In concret terms :

In every country I'll cross, I will go to meet people simply to ask them what Human Rights mean for them.

My though will be divided into three stages :

1 Listening to the person's answer about her perception of Human Right's in her country.

2. Think on the answers given by the people of a country, in the light of cultural, political and or economic country.

3. Use these previous research to compare with my theoretical knowledge.

Which route will I take ? How will I choose the countries ?

CLICK HERE to view the interactive itinerary of my investigation.

I will take into account three criterias to choose the countries of my visit :

1. I mainly based my choice on the reports of the Council of Human Rights of the United Nations (http://www2.ohchr.org/french/bodies/hrcouncil/) and FIDH (http://www.fidh. org /)

2. Geographical areas where I focus my future internships and / or jobs, including one that I will realize from January

3. Some countries are considered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as areas to avoid. My choice of countries is subject to change depending on the improvement or deterioration of security.

What will be the support of my work ?

The aim of my project is to gather together in a little book the result of my work.

What will contain this book ? A legal investigation, but also a traveling survey !

To achieve write something useful and enjoyable for all, jurists and non jurists, I will integrate the results of my investigation and my though in my overall travel story.

Text and pictures

Because some like to read but others prefer to "look at the pictures," I want to soak my work of the atmosphere in which I ask my questions and share it with you.

Thus, for each new response I ll get, I won't confine myself only to write the ensuing though. I will also express my personal feelings, the description of when I met the person. I will describe the person, the place of the meeting, the dificulties I was confronted by to ask my questions. And because I know that cultural barriers often lead to strange situations, I won't hesitate to share funny or difficult moments arrive.

To describe this, I will use the words, but some moments are so special that it would take too much words to get to tell them faithfully. Then I will use pictures, in addition to my story.

How long will I take to do that ?

I give myself a year. I plan to submit my application for different Institutes of Political Science in France for the start of September 2014, the work will be finished for the summer.

How to meet people ?

During my journey, I will make sure to be a maximum contact with the local people, particularly through the website Couchsurfing, an excellent amateur travel community and sharing. It allows travelers to stay with the locals, for a short time (between 1 and 3 days ...) without having to pay. This works because there is a fairly equitable rotation among the "sofas" basis and travelers worldwide. Typically, the host takes to heart her role and immerses you in everyday life for the time he welcomes you.
This community is by far the most effective way to meet people and share with them.

What's next after the project ?
Very good question. I'm 23, and I do not feel ready to work. Why? After my master's degree in international law II in September 2012, I felt the need for additional training in "pure" law. In fact, I learned the right, but not international relations, while working in human rights means being in contact with the diplomatic relations between the countries and international affairs in general. For this reason, I chose to complete a Master in International Affairs Institute of Political Science. My application filed in September 2013 for a comeback in 2014, I decided to take this year "free" to do two internships abroad, but mainly reflect the relative universality of human rights, through the project that I present today. Thank you for your support, it passes through donations or simple comments.

Suivez-moi aussi sur Facebook pour accéder en temps réel à l'avancement de mon projet !

https://www.facebook.com/droitsdelhommenquestions

Allocation of funds
