While Thibault is about to fly to Malaysia for an internship, Louis-Hubert suggests him to undertake an <strong>odyssey at the bottom of the income pyramid</strong>. Latitude 30 Project was born…</p>

While studying in business schools, we got passionate about the <strong>adventures undertaken by entrepreneurs</strong> in France and elsewhere <strong>to change things</strong>.</p>
<p>
After walking through the humanitarian assistance, social entrepreneurship, the collaborative economy, the solidarity-based finance and other social innovations, we got our hands on C.K. Prahalad’s book: “<strong>the Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid</strong>”! </p>

The idea is ambitious: large companies should not consider the 4 billion people living with less than 2$ per day as recipients but as <strong>entrepreneurs</strong>, <strong>consumers</strong>, <strong>suppliers</strong> and <strong>potential partners</strong>. </p>

What better way to study the efficiency of strategies set up by these companies than to get on-site?</p>

They will enable to <strong>discover the daily life and the aspirations of the people in need</strong>. How does Shem's everyday existence in Indonesia look like? What is Ignacio doing to change things in his village in Bolivia? What are Jomo’s dreams for Kenya?</p>

This will also allow us to compare their look between the different regions we will cross. Finally it represents a great opportunity to <strong>give them the floor</strong> and <strong>create the project together</strong> in order to <strong>better relate it to you</strong>. </p>

After providing short photography training to young students, we will lend them <strong>disposable cameras</strong> and we will offer them to take photos during one week, in our absence, of <strong>what is important to them in their daily life</strong>. </p>

We decided to self-finance the <strong>flight tickets,</strong> that will enable us to travel from continent to continent, as well as the <strong>means of transport </strong>(10,000€).</p>

Your contribution will flow into <strong>the operations</strong> "Show me where you live" and "Tell me your dream" (5,500€).</p>

The remaining part of the budget will be funded by sponsors (24,500€).</p>

In 1997, Indian researcher <strong>C.K. Prahalad</strong> published a daring article entitled: "The strategies for the Bottom Of the Pyramid". His approach is based on the following observation: "The traditional companies target the 800 million richest people of the planet. Not considering the 4 billion people living at the bottom of the economic pyramid would be a serious <strong>strategic mistake</strong> as well as a <strong>brake on economic development </strong>in the regions in question. The concept of "Bottom of the Pyramid" (BoP) was born.</p>
