Le vieux capitaine : l'exposition

<p> <strong>Participation in the European Festival of Nude Photography</strong></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> As a photographer, I am glad to have been selected for the upcoming FEPN in Arles (France) may 6th to 16th 2016. I will be presenting my series "The old captain" shot in 2014, and previously presented in the form of projection images during the "Image Publique" festival in Rennes in october 2014. This time we are talking about an exhibition, so I will have to produce top of the range prints. For that purpose I will need your financial support to help me carry out this project.</p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Logo_fepn-1450540684" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/261956/logo_fepn-1450540684.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>The old captain</strong></p> <p>  </p> <p> He is 83 years old ,his skin has aged gracefully. His hands are handsome, as if sculpted by the years and his sailor’s job. A former officer in the merchant navy, the old captain now and then lends his body to artists, painters or photographers. For me, it is an opportunity to achieve a photographic work about a man having completed most of his life.</p> <p> The man starts revealing himself, his head, first. From his face, I can only see an eye, half-hidden behind the grid of his hands.</p> <p> .</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Vieux-capitaine-1456173916" height="640" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/281017/vieux-capitaine-1456173916.JPG" width="429"></p> <p>  </p> <p> Now shirtless, he allows his hands to show his face entirely. A first step into his intimate self.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Vieux-capitaine-3-1456174059" height="439" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/281022/vieux-capitaine-3-1456174059.JPG" width="439"></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> Little by little, facing the camera, he exhibits his whole body, and at the same time, the story of his life which he tells between two shots.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Vieux-capitaine-6_court-1456174341" height="605" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/281029/vieux-capitaine-6_court-1456174341.jpg" width="430"></p> <p>  </p> <p> He scrolls through his memories with some pride, just as he is proud of a body he knows to be photogenic.</p> <p> The poses come one after the other. I photograph the details of his body, etched, carved by life.</p> <p> Now the man is totally naked. The last pose is that of the foetus. It is the end of a path, a return to origins.</p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Vieux-capitaine-12_kiss-1456174379" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/281031/vieux-capitaine-12_kiss-1456174379.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> Full series can be seen on my web site :  <a href="http://www.yvergniaux.com/series-photographiques/?sujet=jean-jacques" target="_blank">www.yvergniaux.com</a></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p>
