Choose <strong>energies and products that are less "toxic" ecologically, economically and socially</strong> (the 3 of them being linked). Go for alternatives in terms of transportation. And <strong>support eco-projects</strong>, which require much <strong>more investment</strong> than a strictly commercial project that is careless about environmental and social impacts.</div> <div> Little by little, the total of individual initiatives heading that way can change mentalities, and lead to a reduction of our impacts on the environment.</div> <div>  </div> <div> <strong>Why is ecotourism important?</strong></div> <div> <em>Nicolas</em>: because I'm a <strong>traveler</strong>, and I'm particularly <strong>concerned about environment, climate change and its consequences</strong>. I like traveling in places where nature and ecosystems are preserved. <strong>As tourists, our footprint mustn't damage both the natural and human environment</strong>. While political decisions don't always measure up to the requirements of the current environmental situation, there are fortunately initiatives in the civil society that are taking action and changing mentalities. We do have to support them.</div> <div>  </div> <div> <strong>Why support Lia Beach?</strong></div> <div> <em>Aurélie</em>: The Lia Beach project sets an example. It's an ecologically and socially responsible project, a resort that <strong>reduces its ecological footprint as much as possible</strong>, and is a source of <strong>improvement of local living conditions</strong>, while <strong>respecting the natural environment and diversity</strong>.</div> <div> I discovered the Togean islands a few years ago, and I literally fell in love with <strong>that beautiful place that absolutely has to be protected</strong>, and with its so welcoming inhabitants. That's one more reason to <strong>support this project that creates real positive externalities</strong>! In an area located 30 km south of the equator, where sunshine hours are at their best (between 5 and 8:30 a day depending on the season), it would be a nonsense to use a generator!
