ABOUT ME

Hello! I’m Claire and I’m the author and POP Girl behind this Jakarta City Guide’s project.

I arrived 7 years ago, initially for an internship for a year but felt in love with Mr. N and here I am in 2018 living and loving Jakarta! When I first arrived, I turned up to this city and didn’t have a clue where to go, and spent way too much time in spa, brunch and wrong places! I’ve since been digging up local and authentic spots, finding great food, and discovering creative neighborhoods.

Many of my friends ask me tips, places and advises to move & enjoy Jakarta pushing me today to write a Good Guide to share with you all my hidden secrets of this awesome city that is Jakarta, and to help you have an amazing time here for a week or the next 5 years.

Recommendations include cool coffee shops, authentic Art galleries, fabulous food (both local and contemporary), speakeasy bars, boutique hotels, home deco shop and places to visit. It is designed to be practical, useful with great design to make you love the Indonesian Capital!

WHAT STAGE AM I AT?

I’m currently finalizing the visual template of the e-newsletter & prepare the map. Regarding the book I’m compiling the list of places and going around to take the pictures and continuing discovering unique spot.

Timeline:

February:

Launching the crowdfunding campaign, finalize the logo and e-newsletter template design with our illustrator Putri. It is the time to finalize the list of the 130 spots for Jakarta city map as well.

March:

Visual development and illustration making of Jakarta City Map with Putri

Testing of the e-newsletter toward a community of 200 readers

April:

Printing of JCM. Go for socializing and distribution.

Running the e-newsletter

Building the content Jakarta Book Guide

May-June:

Finalizing Jakarta Book Guide: content, photography, layout and printing

July:

Pick up your books at the launch event! Books & rewards are shipped

CHALLENGES

When it comes to production, printing and shipping it always can be a bit challenging to ensure timeline. I have today a good relationship with my printers who will help me create a wonderful product for you.

When it comes to postage, sometimes parcels can go awol, but I'll do the best I can to help if things go wrong.
