The project:

Tanguy will be taking part in the Mini Transat in October 2013. The Mini Transat is a single handed transatlantic race for Mini 6.50s, which are very small yachts only 6.50 meters long! This mythical regatta will start from Douarnenez (Brittany) and end in Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe) with a stopover in Lanzarote (Canary Islands). This race has been the starting point for many famous sailors: Loïck Peyron, Michel Desjoyeaux, Ellen Mac Arthur, Roland Jourdain...

“Terreal-Rêve d’Enfance”: the yacht’s name and Tanguy’s partnership:

Tanguy’s project is mainly sponsored by Terreal, a French world leader in Terracotta solutions for roof and façade. Terreal’s aim is double: it will also use the race’s reputation and Tanguy’s boat to offer visibility for Rêve d’Enfance, another project it supports.

Rêve d’Enfance (“ A childhood’s dream”) is a non-profit organization which offers an annual 2 weeks’ cruise around Corsica for thirty teenagers in remission from cancer. It also offers the children recreational activities and psychological support all along the year. This non-profit organization’s motto fits the Mini Transat project very well: “ Because sick children are adventurers too”.
