I’m taking you on my last road trip through Indonesia where I discovered Flores. Belonging to the province of the lesser Indonesian Sunda Islands, Flores gives an authentic face to the travellers but also a harsh life for it's inhabitants. Desolated islands, active volcanoes and luxuriant forests make dreams for the tourists yearning for excitement. However one must expect difficult and very basic sleeping facilities, and the roads are in a very bad state. But for the population, this postcard scene is not as idyllic as it seems and everyday life is not so magical!   <img alt="Indonesia-map-1471612578" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/343614/Indonesia-Map-1471612578.gif" /><img alt="Map-flores-1471612603" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/343615/map-flores-1471612603.jpg" />     THE MEETING. These three boys gave me the desire to undertake my project.   <img alt="1-1471422504" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/343180/1-1471422504.jpg" />     Ricards is on the left of the picture. These are a few words from him, "I’m Ricard, I’m studying at a tourism school in Ruteng. My parents work on our family farm. Even if it is very difficult for them to pay for my studies, they work very hard just to help me to fulfill my dream. I’ve a dream high in the sky : to succeed in life in order to help my parents, my friends and anyone around me who needs me. They all support me in my project. I’ve not yet chosen my career because I don’t want to fail. My parents may not be able to help me to attend university and it will be very hard for me to see my dreams falling apart. I don’t wish to work as my parents do in the rice paddies. So I try to work hard at school and to help my parents as much as I can so I can continue to go to school and to succeed in my life. Ricard.     Alvian  ( in the middle of the picture) Hello, I’m Alvian. I like to spend good time with my family and friends (girls too !..lol) I’ve had a scooter for a few months and we had a lot of fun with Mama Tya. I’m a student in the same school as Ricard and Ano and I live with them. Now I’m on holidays and I’ve returned to my village to help my family on the farm. My dream would be to become an English teacher but I think it’s only a dream because my parents and I need a lot of money for me to finish my studies. I love life, I love my family and friends. I love to smile upon life and see life smiling back at me. Alvian.     Ano ( on the right hand side of the picture) Hi, my name is Ano and I love football. I don’t know which kind of food I prefer but for sure I want to eat rice (lol….) I’ve met a lot of friends at school in Ruteng but my best encounter is with Mama Tya. My first rented room was like a prison for me but then I decided to live with Ricard and Alvian. They are my family now since I’ve got only my father left whom I see three times a year. My friends and Mama Tya cheer me up so I gain confidence in life and hope for the future. My dream is to be a policeman and I will work hard to meet my objectives. Ano.     Mama Tya I’ve spent a night in the covent MBC Maria Berduka Cita in Ruteng. I was about to walk to have lunch when these three young boys asked me if it was possible to spend some hours with them to help them to practice their English. I agreed and suggested to meet up and then I stayed with them the following day . Since then they became part of my life. These boys have had the chance to start studying tourism. Their motivation and their energy are so great that they don’t hesitate to spend their free time to find travellers so they can improve their English and knowledge. Unfortunately, one must know that two out of three young people are forced to stop their studies because of a lack of money and they finish by going back to a life of hard work without hopes. They allowed me to discover their school, their teachers and their conditions of life.   <img alt="11-1471422706" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/343181/11-1471422706.jpg" />     I have shared daily life with them and I realize how determined and courageous these young men are as they must face their future everyday . ●Nights are very cold, they sleep on the ground with only a straw mattress for some of them. ●The morning toilet starts at 5 a.m, with freezing water, but their look to go to school is spotless, even after 40 minutes walk, they are always on time. ●Their daily meal is always the same : rice at breakfast, rice at lunch and rice at dinner, and many more inconveniences that we Europeans are not able to face.   Despite this, each day is lived as a chance, an honour to have this opportunity and the will to respect the adults who help them (teachers, parents and you too kiss bankers.) For two years, I tried to relieve the pains of these three boys (no need to say that there are thousands of them in the same boat.)   <img alt="20160316_125340-1471776597" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/343839/20160316_125340-1471776597.jpg" />   But it’s becoming very difficult for me, facing my physical and financial state). This is why I’m calling you, kiss bankers community. Your financial help will be the payment of school fees as a priority.  ●Education: 2.000.000 roupias = 140 euros/per year. ●Rent : ( usually the villages where they live are very far and retired in the mountains) 1.500,000 roupias ( 100 euros/per year) ●The food (rice) : 1000.000 roupias = 70 euros/per year ●Equipment for basic comfort ( blankets, mattresses, coats, warm clothes, hygiene products, school supplies) : 1.500,000 roupias = 100/per year. ●Optional extras : Administrative help (identity papers, opening a bank) I.T. help (phone, computer, digital tablet)   SUMMARY   <img alt="Image__4_-1472543108" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/345592/image__4_-1472543108.png" />   This is what a student needs for a year to study, to live decently and to give them a promise for a better future.

Allocation of funds

■1st collects : Kisskiss bankers   ●The first goal of the project is to collect a maximum of kiss bankers ready to commit themselves for at least a year by sponsoring one SMK school pupil in Ruteng and to sponsor them to go to University if possible. In the first instance, you will send money by Western Union. ●During my stay (April 2019) I will be at your disposition to help you with the money transfer, the payment for the school and lodging and give you updates about the children.     MY MISSION : To engage myself with each kisskiss bankers to develop the relationship between the two parties. Your commitment remains a commitment of heart and leaves you the possibility of retracting you in case if the child or the situation does not correspond to you. Once on of you, the opening of a bank account for the pupil will facilitate your transferred of money with exchange rates much more interest.   ■2nd collects : 1000 euros. ●The 2nd goal is to raise necessary founds for Ricard, Alvian and Ano to allow them to finish their studies (two years before going to University) ●I will receiv the collecte to help me to go to Ruteng and set up the project.     Expense :   °Plane ticket + visa: 1000 euros All the exceeding funds over 1.000 euros will be used for equipments such as blankets, coats, warm clothes, hygiene products and school supplies to be given to all of them.
