Hello, my name is Nadia Vadori-Gauthier.

I am a performance artist with a P.H.D. is Aesthetics (Contemporary Art and Performance Art)

I dance and I do research, by questioning the limits between life and art.

Since the attacks in Paris on January 2015, I have been comitting myself to a daily Performance Art project, an act poetic act of resistance : One Minute of Dance a Day

Everyday, I dance for about one minute, in the physical and mental states and places where I happen to be, and I post the dance online. I dance indoors or outdoors, in public or in private locations, on my own or with others, with strangers, or with people I know, and sometimes even friends.

I dance like I’m manisfesting for something, working towards a living poetry, to act with « the sensible » against the violence of certain aspects of the world.

That is the answer I have found to assign myself a daily action, small but concrete and reiterated, something that can move the lines and shift the norm.

To me, One Minute of Dance a Day, is an aesthetic commitment, in other words a sensible commitment. A poetic, ethical and micro-political dedication, radical on a very small scale.

Also, I have been inspired for this project by a quote from Nietzsche's Thus spoke Zarathustra :

« We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once »

It means to me that it is about staying alive, it is about living in movement and keeping the pace.

In the making of this project, I was also thinking about a Chinese saying:

Drop by drop, the water eventually passes through the stone.

It means that a minimal and repeated action eventually has a big effect.

The water drops are my daily danses, interstitial, unarmed, with no shields.

The stone is the hardening of the world, the ever increasing separation between certain strata, communitarianisms, hierarchies, consumerisms, obscurantisms, the uncoupling of human and nature and the lack of a poetic active dimension in everyday life.

I am in the process of putting together a series of projections for my One of Minute of Dance a Day dances, at different locations, the week of the 4th to the 10th of January 2016.

Today, I would love your help in financing this very special event that will mark one year of minutes of dance and of the memorial of the January shootings in Paris.

Thanks to you, I will be able to put together the projections, for which I already have the okay for 5 locations. This will give the public access to the project, and will allow me to carry on with the dances.
