Our studio

Children and youth theatre studio ‘Kompanija Šauni’ (‘’The Valiant Company’’) of Šiauliai Student Non - Formal Education Centre was established 25 years ago by directors Dale Dargiene and Virginijus Dargis.

What do we do?

At the studio, children and teenagers take part in acting, dancing, singing and improvisation activities.

Young performers participate in the various city events, national and international festivals and projects. They have established good relationships with contemporaries not only from Lithuania but also from Latvia, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Russia, UK, Italy, Slovenia and India.

Our motivation

The reason all these young people come to the studio is probably caused by a miracle - it takes only a couple years for them to become completely different. Getting more open minded and curious, helps to get the impetus for the future creations and even personal life.

The creative space, set up by energetic leaders, is filled with love which attracts even the graduated ones to come back/visit us and share and share and share… ‘Kompanija Šauni’ is not just an after school activity, it is a lifestyle.

Our festival "The White Crow"

The studio organizes the international theatre festival ‘’Baltoji Varnelė’’ (‘’The White Crow’’) every two years since 1996. This autumn will be the twelfth festival, which will feature groups from Denmark, Zambia, Britain, Latvia and Lithuania. Not only for our studio members ‘Kompanija Sauni’ is important but also for our city and the whole country. Our activities represent the youth of Lithuania in a positive way through art.
