Ô de mon Chéri est un projet parisien de Jazz et Swing aux notes latines composé par Gwen Ollivier au piano, John Dufossé à la contrebasse, Etienne Favier à la guitare et bien sûr Ô de mon Chéri à la voix. L'album regroupera nos chansons préférées entre 1920 et 1955 de Swing Américain mais aussi des trésors de la Chanson Française et du Boléro-Son.

Ô de mon Chéri is a Paris-based Jazz and Swing project with Latin overtones formed of Gwen Ollivier on piano, John Dufossé on double bass, Etienne Favier on guitar and of course Ô de mon Chéri on vocals. The album will bring together our favorite songs between 1920 and 1955 of American Swing but also treasures of the Chanson Française and Bolero-Son.

Ah.....Sweet Lorraine!

Cette chanson de Cliff Burwell et Mitchell Parish est le départ en 2015 d'une rencontre musicale et amicale entre Gwen Ollivier, pianiste, et Ô de mon Chéri, chanteuse.

Dans les coulisses d'un festival Suisse, Ô de mon Chéri s’arrête en entendant les notes au piano de “Sweet Lorraine”. Technicité, passion, un sens inné de l’improvisation, toujours souriant et des yeux malicieux : Gwen Ollivier joue et elle tombe sous son charme.

Lui est ému par sa voix, la grâce et la determination qu’elle dégage et le bonheur qu’elle transmet sur scène.

L’étincelle fait naitre l'idée de monter un groupe à Paris !

Au duo se joint John Dufossé, compositeur et contrebassiste éclectique (swing, musique tzigane, musique des balkans, reggae, rhythm and blues, cumbia...). Son sérieux, sa présence sécurisante, son flegme et l’étendue de sa connaissance musicale consolident le groupe.

Lors d’une tournée sur la Côte d’Azur, le trio enchante Elton John et la famille Beckham au complet.

John permet la rencontre avec Etienne Favier, guitariste-chanteur de swing, de chanson française et de blues. Ce dernier vouant une passion sans faille à Django Reinhardt distille cette influence dans leur répertoire jazz/swing et français et ajoute une deuxième voix donnant l’impulsion aux autres gentlemen de la bande de chanter eux aussi en harmonie.

Ensemble ils sont invités à jouer au Ghana pour le Beaujolais Nouveau !

Tantôt duo, trio, quartet ou quintet (et même parfois sextet avec saxophone), ils rendent hommage au Jazz, Swing et Rhythm and Blues américain et à la Chanson Française des années 20 aux années 50. Leur répertoire français et anglais est résolument rétro. Cependant, la formation se balade parfois, revisitant des tubes plus récents. Les mains virevoltantes de Gwen improvisent aussi des rythmes cubains qui entraînent le reste de la troupe et invitent le public à la danse.

Ce savant mélange de talents, de personnalités et d’influences musicales produit sur scène une dynamique pleine d’émotions et d’élégance que Ô de mon Chéri orchestre dans un feu d’artifice de glamour.

Ah...Sweet Lorraine!

This song by Cliff Burwell and Mitchell Parish was the start of a musical and friendly encounter between Gwen Ollivier, pianist, and Ô de mon Chéri, singer.

Backstage at a Swiss festival in 2015, Ô de mon Chéri froze when she heard the notes of "Sweet Lorraine” on a piano played with technical competence and incredible passion. Though with an innate sense of improvisation and always smiling mischievously, as Gwen played Ô de mon Chéri fell under his musical spell.

Later, Gwen too was captivated! Moved by her voice, by the grace and determination of which she exudes and the joy she transmits on stage, a spark was ignited!

They decided to put together a band in Paris!

The duo is joined by John Dufossé, a composer and an eclectic double bass player (Swing, Gypsy music, Balkan music, Reggae, Rhythm and Blues, Cumbia…). His reliability, his reassuring presence, his composure & his extensive musical knowledge cement the band. During a tour on the French Riviera, the trio delights Elton John and the entire Beckham family.

John brings the trio and Etienne Favier together. Etienne is a Swing/Chanson Française/Blues guitarist-singer. Devoting an unfailing passion to Django Reinhardt, he distills this influence into their Jazz/Swing & French repertoire. Moreover, Etienne adds a second singing voice giving impetus to the other gentlemen of the pack to sing in harmony too.

Together they are invited to perform in Ghana for the Beaujolais Nouveau!

Sometimes as a duo, a trio, a quartet or as a quintet (and even sometimes as a sextet with a saxophone player), they pay tribute to the American Jazz/Swing and Rhythm & Blues and to the French Chanson from the 20s to the 50s. Their French and American repertoire is definitely retro. However, the combo sometimes veers and revisits the most recent hits. Gwen's twirling hands also improvise some Cuban rhythms that draw the rest of the ensemble and invite the audience to dance.

This clever blend of talents, personalities and musical influences on stage creates a delightful and powerful energy full of emotions and elegance that Ô de mon Chéri orchestrates in a fireworks display of glamour.
