Welcome here  🙂 ! TALISMAN is a dreamy pop-folk album which brings together my first songs, recorded in the studio. TALISMAN offers a gentle journey into an imaginary and sensory world from which we emerge soothed and reconnected with ourselves. This musical project has been unfolding within me for years, like a long, intimate quest that resulted in my first album. There are still a few steps to take for it to come to life, and for that I need you! To thank you for your support, I have carefully crafted some exclusive, handmade and magical rewards that I can't wait to offer you. An irresistible quest… I have been composing and writing since childhood. I have a self-taught and intuitive approach, supported by solid studies (Conservatory, Berklee College of Music, IMEP). However, I didn't always believe in my musical dreams. I explored a few side roads before daring to listen to my visceral need to create and sing. Today I am a singer, multi-instrumentalist (guitar, saxophone, keyboards, looper), author/composer and arranger. I first played in the projects of other musicians (Minino Garay, Camille Bertault, Métaphump group, Ptäh collective) then in co-creations (jazz duo So Ouatte with Robin Nitram), and I thus trod the boards of very beautiful stages: New Morning, Sunset Sunside, Baiser Salé, Studio de l’Ermitage, Radio France… The idea of ​​TALISMAN is to go further in my approach by presenting for the first time my own music and the universe that lives within me. A deep, mystical and feminine universe. First milestones… Strangely, TALISMAN began to take shape through record sleeves that I created by hand. They are all unique, and made with recycled materials. There were my way to call for inspiration. And it took 136 sleeves… so that my musical research led to the emergence of a music that I felt was truly “mine”. Since then, I put some CDs in these sleeves (exclusive recordings). You'll find them among this crowdfunding rewards --> code name "magical CDs". Limited series! The music... The music that gradually imposed itself on me mixes several strong influences: on the one hand folk music which reconnects me to my Celtic origins, on the other hand Latin music and the world of improvised music, from which I draw a powerful rhythmic foundation and a very free use of voice. I write mainly in 3 languages ​​(French, English, Spanish). When my first songs took shape, I offered a few live gigs, but the prolonged cancellation of shows linked to COVID pushed me to jump straight to studio recording. First "TALISMAN" live concerts at Bal Blomet in Paris: The team... After a pre-production phase with Quentin Biardeau, based on first guitar/voice mockups, I had one of my wildest dreams come true! Record my own songs in the studio! I had the chance to work on this album with a marvellous team: - Quentin Biardeau on keyboards, synth bass, saxophone, and drum machine, but also on production, composition, arrangements and direction, - Giani Caserotto on guitars, - Cyril Atef on drums and percussion, - Mathieu Pion on sound recording and mixing, - Pierre-Emmanuel Meriaud on mastering. And to record at Studio Nyima, in Saint-Jean de Blanc. The result... The result is a collection of intimate songs, which bring you into a trance. It is a mixture of electronic and acoustic sounds that evokes a post-modern wild forest, where nature has reclaimed its rights while integrating the buzzing remains of some megacity vibes. The artwork(s) When deciding on the artwork for TALISMAN, I followed my intuition again. I spent my entire summer of 2022 making sketches (I should point out that I do not usually draw), in a single stroke, without lifting the pencil, to symbolize the invisible thread that unites the women of my lineage. Completely improvised, these sketches combine women's faces and bodies with natural elements. They evoke feminine presences, often benevolent, but sometimes enigmatic or terrifying. I then worked with graphic designer Amankaï Araya to wrap them in textures and colors, and create not just one artwork for the album, but also one for each TALISMAN single. First steps in the world... The year 2023 marked TALISMAN's first steps in the world: I released a first music video, 3 singles accompanied by their artworks, and I gave my first TALISMAN solo concerts. You can now discover L'Ancre (videoclip at the top of this page), or Sea Bird (below), which are part of my album TALISMAN: The release of the album TALISMAN is scheduled for May 24th, the day before my birthday! Today I am launching a subscription campaign to help me finance the final stages of bringing this record to the world.
