Help us raise funds for BAIN! Sustainable bathing suits & retro surf shorts. Designed in Biarritz & made in France.
BAIN is a swimwear brand recently created in Biarritz, France. It is the shared visions of Nicolas & Cindy, two friends & designers inspired by their love for the 70's, arts, surf & simple moments.
We (Cindy & Nicolas) met in Montreal, Canada where we worked as designers. Our passion for surfing and travelling lead us on great adventures, trying to live like we were in a 70's surf movie.
I (Nicolas) wanted shorter surf shorts, like the one they use to wear in the seventies, that I could wear on any occasion. I (Cindy) wanted a feminine swimsuit, that would be comfortable and stay on while surfing or having fun in the water.
Unfortunately we could not find these swimsuits, so we made them. We created BAIN to offer you a different kind of swim wear.
We create swimwear for men and women who care about style and enjoy the moment. We are a french brand with simple but genuine values. Our name, BAIN, means "bath" in french. It came naturally as it evokes feelings of freedom & spontaneity. The two bathers logo, symbolize the communion between Man with Nature as well as innocence & sharing
-Respect for nature
Casual or fancy, the BAIN collection is exclusively made in France with the highest quality materials. Comfortable, they are made to be worn in harmony with a body in motion, for sports or relaxation.
For our Men's swim shorts we got back to basics : our collection is inspired by 70's board-shorts, improved with innovative modern fabrics.
This combination of chic and comfort can be worn at any time, on land or at sea, on a board or on the sand, in the city or in the countryside. Triple stitchings insure durability. And its secret pocket allows you to surf, run, or walk with free hands and a free mind.
We carefully selected fabrics knitted with polyamide fabrics and 4 to 6 % Spandex which gives the shorts comfort. The "Beaurivage" short received a water repellent treatment so the fabric stays light when wet and dry in a short time. Our designs celebrate retro swimwear while creating a modern aesthetic.

Our Women's collection is inspired by nature and gracefully flirts with the 70's.
The "Belza", a two-tone piece, is star of the 2014 collection. Its fabrics is contains LYCRA Xtra life fibers which is ten times more resistant to chlorine, oils and sunscreen than standard lycra. It is both flexible and body shaping. You'll love it!
The "Aigurande" floral reveals and sublimates the back with its flexible braided straps, maintaining the breasts without hurting your skin. Its volume and exclusive print designed in collaboration with New York based textile designer Helen Dealtry makes this suit the trendiest of the collection.
The "Malzanne", fully lined with invisible seams, was especially designed for surfing. It insures your bikini will stay on with elegance and flexibility.
The cherry on the cake? It's entirely made with recycled polyamide and LYCRA Xtra life fibers, proving a light feel, quick dry time, and UV protection (UPF 50+).
With the "Mazlanne" you can stay stylish and do good for the environment!
OUR PROJECT IS SUSTAINABLE
1- We manufacture the entire collection in Troyes, "Capital of Knitwear", France.
2- We believe in European and French savoir- faire, decent work conditions where environmental laws are respected.
3- The proximity of production sites and suppliers (France, Italy, and Germany) allows us to reduce significantly Co2 impacts on the environment.
4- The Malzanne model is made with fabric made from Econyl fibers, created from recycled plastic. This process makes the fabric more resistant, cleans the oceans and reduces plastic consumption.
Unfortunately we could only produce one model in this fabric since they are still scarce on the market.
5- We wanted a way to re-use our packaging to avoid waste, so we came up with a pouch made with organic cotton you can put your favorite BAIN swimsuit in, or anything else you desire!
6- For every Swimsuits or short at the end of life, send it back to us and we will recycle it. In return we offer you 10% off your next purchase!
By helping us financially with this project, you contribute to a healthy and responsible local economy as well as going a gesture for the environment.
