Bangs in my Chest
Short film directed by Julien Paolini starring Ahna O'Reilly and Shiloh Fernandez, located in the desert of Arizona in the deep south of USA
Bangs in my Chest
Bangs in My Chest is the meeting of two people that everything sets apart.
In the wilderness of the desert of Arizona, in the heart of the most developed country, something stronger than rational considerations will bring them closer than they might think.
The two destinies will bind to be at one.
According to Aaron, “the redskin”, it was meant to be. Something bigger than them led him to cross paths with Sandy. But nothing is more ridiculous for the redneck girl that this type of reasoning.
It was without counting the grace, the beauty that reveals in everything the sense of falling in love for the lover. Everything, even the less obvious. Even the heavy machine gun fire.
Beauty's everywhere. There is poetry in everything.
And the particular work on the image of the film goes in that direction. A work on the treatment of the image using filters seeks to give a special visual identity that restores the state of mind of the main character, turned toward the spiritual which love is a representation according to Aaron.
Giving to the film itself this ethereal point of view, contemplative, poetic, that the topic of weapons radically counteracts, for a contrast as strong as the profiles of the two characters who will come together.
A story about love and weapons.
Because love can be as much devastating, represent the same danger. Because since always what fans the fascination of some people for weapons has also been built through fiction in a romantic representation. Treat romance under this axis is for me a way to renew it by giving it a unique tone.
The direction combines the cinematography of art direction, locations and photography to some more realistic documentary codes in the treatment of the whole "weapons topic” and his associated event.
This choice and his humorous touch sometimes go in the direction of an hindsight in the reading of the movie, which opts for extreme biases ...
Why do we need you ?
The actors have agreed not to be paid because they believed in the project and trusted the energy and talent of Julien Paolini and his team.
Thus, Ahna O'Reilly, popular actress ("The Helper“, "As I lay dying") and James Franco's companion came three days on the set for the female lead:
And Shiloh Fernandez (lead role of "Evil Dead", one of the most young actors of the moment in Hollywood) has played the game by becoming the main "Bangs in my Chest" character.
The shooting has been completed in the U.S. thanks to a highly motivated team, having had recourse to tricks, plans B and solutions in the "coping"... in the middle of the desert of Arizona.
In short, the result is there, but it lacks to the team, still as motivated, the means to finance the post-production.
Allocation of funds
What you will give us a chance to finance?
- Post-production of short films (including sound effects, mixing, calibration)
- Recording of original music
- Sound retakes with the actors (including post-synchronization)
The aim is to make a world tour of festivals with this beautiful project, knowing that Julien Paolini’s last shorts movie ("African Race") has traveled in more than 30 countries in festivals!
Of course, if we manage to receive more than expected, the amount will be used to improve the global quality of the film (in the image and sound), so thank you in advance for your help.
We will keep you regularly posted.
