« Bantu le Livre » is a travel diary that relates ten years of creations around the symbolic figure of the Bantu Warrior, a character painted since 2008 by the Artist Kouka Ntadi, during his journeys around the world.

From Libreville to Rio de Janeiro, including Brazzaville, Paris, Bruxelles, Miami, New York, Berlin, Istanbul, Bali,… Experiences and meeting permitted me to built a myth, testifying the collective memory and making a dialog between the different cultures until getting rid of it.

Through this book, I want to trace this path that made me grow while feeding my Art and immortalize these ephemeral works that have marked so many people.

« By painting this character everywhere I went, I realized how much this story was universal. I received messages of people telling me the hope and inspiration that the image of this Warrior could provide.

Vitry sur Seine (France), 2013

I wanted to share all these archives I was collecting since ten years, in the same way I shared the story of this character with people. Not in the idea of imposing my vision on the world but rather to make sure that everyone can ownership of this narrative.

I wanted to produce this project in order to shed light on what is not seen but exists in the representation of the Bantu Warrior: the great human and collective adventure that has been evolving this project for more than ten years »
