PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT
The main theme addressed by the project #BEACH is the relationship between photography, movement and time.
To highlight this notion of movement, the photos that make up this exhibition were made on a beach, with long exposure times. This is indeed the ideal place to show the contrast between who is immobile and therefore represented very clear, and moving persons that appear more or less blurred.
The choice of panoramic format is an allusion to our linear perception of time. In addition, this corresponds to the vision that we have the beach when we are lying on our towel.
If your internet connection is fast enough, it is recommended to set the maximum video quality (720p) by clicking on the small "gear" at the bottom right of the display window
CONSTITUTION OF EXHIBITION
The different elements designed for this exhibition are very various :
■ 8 panoramic prints laminated on Dibond and mounted under artboxes - dimensions : 36x180cm
■ Large polyptych of 10 elements that evokes the cinematic format - overall dimensions: 63 x 335cm
■ Cylindrical structure (diameter 4,2 m - 2,4 m height) in which you can enter and be immersed in a 360° photography, while listening to a soundtrack inspired by the sounds of the beach
■ Large "panoramic lampshade" backlit - diameter 70cm - height 50cm
■ Projection of a panoramic video from an interactive terminal.
■ There will also be offered educational workshops to raise awareness of panoramic photography
DATES AND PLACES OF THIS EXHIBITION
This exhibition will be presented:
► By the General Council of the Atlantiques Pyrénées in July-August 2013 to the Commandery of Lacommande

Summer of 2010.
I'm lying on the beach and I recovers after a very hectic photo shooting session in the "shore breaks."
Heat and fatigue had anesthetized my body, my mind could then devote to his favorite pastime: the prowl ...
First flash: when you're lying on a towel, the world is flat, two-dimensional left / right, forward / backward, but almost no up / down.
It reminded me of a TV program or a metaphysician describing such a world inhabited by creatures completely flat, when suddenly a gust of wind lifted the creatures of the land, which enabled them to discover the third dimension.
The metaphysician extrapolated this experience for men and explained that, for that we can become aware of the fourth dimension, we should be carried away by a temporal gust of wind ...
The ramblings of my mind led me so on a subject that I love, our perception of time. Several temporal dimensions coexisted indeed on the beach. That of holidaymakers who let themselves basking in the sun, motionless , and that of the "actives" jumping in the waves or playing ball.
I realize then, that the separation of these two worlds could be highlighted through photography because it has the ability to translate the movement by fuzzy while keeping clear that is stationary.
The backbone of the #BEACH project had just been born : a series of panoramic photographs with long exposure times in order to highlight the movement and thus the time.
Summer of 2011.
after preparing the technical requirements for such a shooting session, I went several times on a beach in the Landes coast, the hottest hours of the day to have a high population density, and I finally realized the pictures imagined one year ago.
I realize then that the linear view of time that would be represented by the panoramic photographs was not comprehensive enough because in Asian cultures, for example, time is often represented cyclically and non-linear.
The solution was to imagine various media that would render this idea: Large cylindrical structure in which one could enter and be immersed in a 360° photography and a panoramic video projection that rebouclerait on itself to infinity.
Summer of 2012.
I am walking the beaches of the Landes to reap the soundtracks to be used for the cylindrical structure and video.
My project is selected by the General Council of the Atlantique Pyrénées and the Association Nayart
The project # BEACH who had been born from a simple rambling of my mind three years earlier, was finally going to be realized.
Next episode: Summer 2013 ...
I tried to provide the most original counterparties possible.
The very particular format of panoramic photographs gave me the idea of creating objects particular too:
► PANORAMIC LAMPSHADE
Panoramic photograph printing on high quality mat paper, glued on adapted transparent support and covered with a protective varnish Hahnemuehle
Diameter 20cm - height 15cm
The result is truly original and design!
Each lampshade is signed and dated. Furthermore you can customize your model by choosing from 8 different photographs.
► PANORAMIC BOOKMARK
High quality panoramic prints which are then laminated
Dimensions: L = 21cm x H = 34 to 39mm
Signed and dated on the reverse.
You can customize your model by choosing from 12 different photographs.
► ORIGINAL PRINTS
Printed on a high quality digital equipment (Epson Ultrachrome pigment inks, Epson Premium Luster paper 250g / m², etc.)
The format of these prints vary depending on the value of contributions
The L / H draws is between 5.3 and 6
All prints will be signed and dated by the author
The larger size will be available in limited edition
Allocation of funds
Many partners are already involved in this project to enable its realization:
Exposure to Lacommande + ready vidéo projector and 180x240cm screen
■ Association Nayart : Exposure to "Flour Mill" of Nay
■ Sarl LABADIE Gibret : Construction of the interactive video terminal
■ Joinery GONNET BOURGUETOU of Gan : Construction of the artboxes
■ 2A Sérigraphie & Digital Serres-Castet : Large format printing
This project is currently funded at 4000€ for a total budget of € 6500€.
Despite all this partners, it lacks so now € 2500 in order to realize the large cylindrical structure which will be the centerpiece of this exhibition.
Your participation is so essential !
