city [un]archived publication

Tbilisi InSights collective is currently working on a publication together with Onomatopee (Eindhoven, Netherlands) as a result of 18 months of collaboration on questions of personal, unintentional archives of those living within Tbilisi’s architecture and structures set in an inadequate dichotomy of private and public spaces but not only.

Together with eight contributions, our publication continues a discussion which had its starting point in Tbilisi, Georgia, but which from the beginning did not focus on this one respective locality only.

The publication city [un]archived will be printed in 750 copies in October 2015 and launched on October 29, 2015 at Onomatopee's project space in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

An additional publication launch is planned for Tbilisi in December 2015, if our crowdfunding campaign exceeds its goal.

We first presented our project at Gallery Nectar in Tbilisi in October 2014, made possible through our own finances and support from family, friends and colleagues.

Last November we received positive funding news from Arts Collaboratory/DOEN Foundation. This € 15.000 grant was essential for the continuation of our project in Tbilisi, the collaboration in Yerevan and the publication and discursive exhibition planned for this October/November with Onomatopee in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, as well as for the additional publication connected events in Rotterdam and Amsterdam:

- € 3.500 for the archive production and public/private space interventions.

- € 5.000 for the collaboration in Yerevan, Armenia in March/April 2015.

- € 6.500 for our publication city [un]archived and the discursive exhibition with Onomatopee in Eindhoven in October/November 2015.

The third, publication related part (€ 6.500) is meant to cover the following:

- honoraria for contributors, proofreaders, designer (€ 2.600)

- travel and accommodation for eight contributors (€ 3.300)

- printing costs (€ 3.200)

Despite Arts Collaboratory/DOEN Foundation's generous funding and an additional € 700 Step Beyond Travel Grant, the printing costs for our publication have not fully been secured. Therefore we need your help!

This is not just another call for crowdfunding, but an attempt of a collaborative process to share various materials and insights of the Tbilisi InSights project with you, both through being able to print our publication and through our rewards!
