RACE FOR MEMORY - SOS ARTSAKH

For its 7th edition, the « 5&10 KM de la Mémoire », organized in Marseille by the « Courir Pour La Mémoire » association, is launching a new format, offering runners and walkers from all over the world the chance to take part in the race on the same day, at the same time. In view of the extreme emergency situation facing the 120,000 Armenians living in Artsakh, under Azeri blockade since December 12, 2022, and the risk of genocide underway, we are calling on all those who wish to do so to mobilize through sport on October 22. While the main race will take place in Marseille, bringing together hundreds of participants, we're creating a major international movement to ensure that our voice is heard in every corner of the planet. On October 22, thousands of people around the world, from Marseille to Yerevan, from Paris to Stepanakert, from Perth to Los Angeles, and in many other cities around the world, will be running, walking and joining forces to send out a message of alarm. SOS ARTSAKH - #STOPARMENIANGENOCIDE2023 The 5&10 Km of Memory, a committed race Created in Marseille in 2015 by the association "Courir Pour La Mémoire" to fight against genocide and Holocaust denial, the "5&10km de la Mémoire" has a unique and militant character. Through their efforts, runners pay tribute to the millions of victims of genocide and human barbarism, and convey a message of hope and peace. After suffering the genocide of 1915, with 1,500,000 victims of Turkish barbarism, the Armenian people are now threatened with extinction in their homeland of Armenia and Artsakh. Faithful to its founding values, our association "Courir Pour La Mémoire" wishes to raise public awareness, so as not to let a new genocide happen again with total impunity. International, peaceful mobilization through sport In 2023, the aim is to show that, beyond borders, men and women are mobilizing through sport simultaneously to say let's save Armenia and Artsakh. While last year's race on Marseille's Corniche brought together 800 runners on the shores of the Mediterranean, this year CPLM is offering runners from all over the world the chance to meet virtually in their thousands in Marseille. In Marseille, the main venue, an exceptional course on the Corniche Since 2021, the "5 and 10km de la Mémoire" has been taking place on an exceptional course, the Corniche, in Marseille. Thanks to the support of the City of Marseille, as part of La Voie est Libre, the mythical balcony suspended above the Mediterranean is totally dedicated to runners and walkers. The race village is located in the heart of the Corniche, in a marvellous and peaceful panorama, near the Anse des Prophètes. Would you like to become a referent for a new "city"?- Contact us to validate the city, and become its referent. - You'll be responsible for receiving the T-shirts (if ordered before September 30). - You'll be responsible for distributing them to runners in your town ahead of the race.- On D-Day, you'll be responsible for welcoming the runners.- You agree to relay photos and videos of runners/walkers wearing the T-shirt on social networks in your town, with the message SOS ARSTAKH #STOPARMENIANGENOCIDE2023. 2.
