CULTURE & DIVERSITÉ: a book dedicated to Guadeloupe, the West Indies & sneakers

YO! My name is Herbby, I was born in Guadeloupe (French West Indies) in 1989. I share my passion and knowledge of Basketball, Sneakers, Hip-Hop Culture and Art as a creative Consultant, Curator, Writer and Content creator. Today, I'm pleased to share with you that I'm going to self-publish my (first) book named CULTURE & DIVERSITY: Homage to my native Caribbean country! In this 100-page literature and visual work (A4 format with a high-quality hardcover), I recount the 'CULTURE & DIVERSITY' journey from the release of my Nike Air Max 1 (2020) inspired by the traditional fabric of the French West Indies named madras to my first event organized in Guadeloupe (2021). The entire project promotes positivity, unity and elevation with key notions such as family heritage, promotion and transmission of Afro-Caribbean cultures, sharing, passion, unity, entrepreneurship... "Why a book? Why this book?" A book is a dream that my Mother & I share together. My love for writing and reading comes from her so this project is very important to me. To answer the second question, the unanimous positive energy I've received since the beginning of the 'CULTURE & DIVERSITY' journey has inspired me to turn this dream into reality: for me, for my Mother, with you! "More than a simple book: a collector's piece" This is how I envisioned and conceived this project, with family archives, professional photos (THANKS @jeffryjunes, @mwakart_visual et @dps_prod) and most importantly precious words in homage to my native Caribbean country, its inhabitants and the diaspora. Here is a glimpse of the contents: I recount in details the design process and the release of my Air Max 1 I bring to life the experience of my first event in Guadeloupe, in an immersive tone: the organisation, the energy around the event, the highlights and the enriching interventions of local artists and entrepreneurs I share the story of each sneaker model which was exhibited at the event I give countless shoutoouts to people who have been part of the 'CULTURE & DIVERSITY' journey so your name might be mentioned in the book... and obviously, you'll discover some beautiful surprises within the project so buy a copy and listen to Nas: 'Read more, learn more, change the globe'! As you can see, this project is priceless for me. I sincerely hope that it will add value to your life through knowledge, positive energy, inspiration or just a smile. Trust me - CULTURE & DIVERSITY: Homage to my native Caribbean country is 99% ready and I'm really satisfied with the 'final product'! I started writing it in November 2021, right after my event in Guadeloupe and 3 years later, after countless working hours, my (first) book is about to come to light. I'll share glimpses during the crowdfunding notably the cover so stay tuned... I'll also reveal the identity of the incredible person who wrote the foreword of the book, in French and in Creole. And last but not least, I'll announce the official publication date of the book (scheduled early 2025).
'Culture is the key of Unity within Diversity. Learn. Share. Inspire.' - Herbby JEAN-JACQUES, child of Karukera (Guadeloupe)
