Deha Vānī
The name of the body is a short film, fictional performative & musical, shot in the countryside of Gujarat in India. Prod. : Le Fresnoy
Deha Vānī
In Brief :
My project was initiated in India, one year before, from the discovery and my fascination facing a photographic portrait of a RAMNAMI (which belongs to the untouchable community whose bodies are fully tattooed with writings). The story of initiation imagined for this film attempts to evoke the strength of these untouchables who have found, in this irreversible deed, a way to rehabilitate themselves. A quest towards reconciliation with oneself.
The construction of this film was an opportunity to synthesize my practices and my interest in the visual arts, film, performance, dance and music ; also, having grown up on the Reunion Island, to expose the diversity of my cultural background.
Directed with an Indian team, the film is also an entry in the political, literary and musical culture of India.
(The teaser above, does not reveal the script but evokes the spirit of the film).

At an indefinite time in India, a farmer walks his cow in a forest that is said to haunted by "The lost voice spirit". There, he had a strange experience. Back to his village, a wise tells him that he is condemned to die. Unless he makes the choice to go to meet the spirit and himself. Allocation of funds
Main producer of the project, Le Fresnoy provides most of the financial contribution and a help industry.
Uttarayan Art Foundation supports the project by hosting and feeding gracefully whole team (about 15 people) within 7 days of shooting.
However, the budget is not sufficient to meet the needs and technical requirements of the project.
Your contributions would finance:
200€ for hire tracks for 3 days (to make the 4 tracks of the film)
400€ for part of the 6 days of renting the RED Epic camera (to shoot in HDR in the forest not to burn the highlights or shadows butcher).
500€ pour une partie des multiples déplacements nécessaires au tournage et à sa préparation (mal évalué au départ du projet).
740€ for some of the multiple trips during the shoot and preparation (misjudged at the start of the project).
Donations will be managed by the association Point MOV that supports the project from France.
Thank you in advance for your valuable support.
