Embarquement pour un nouveau Tour du Monde en 183 assiettes!

It's now been a year that the project Tour du Monde en 183 assiettes (a world tour in 183 plates) is exploring Brussels' mosaïc of cultures. Located in two places (<a href="http://www.facebook.com/refreshbxl/" target="_blank">Refresh Brussels</a>, a cosy restaurant nested in Ixelles' rue du Sceptre and the space of <a href="http://www.facebook.com/medexmuseum/" target="_blank">MEDEX - Musée Ephémère de l'Exil</a> in Saint-Gilles), the project offers the opportunity to the 183 communities living in Brussels to meet and get to know better each other.   Let's fight together against food waste Initially enshrined in the fight against food waste, each edition saves between 150 and 200 kilos of bio food products. These are cooked during an open workshop the day before the brunch, which allows volunteers and amateurs to learn how to cook a traditional recipe. Free, this workshop is also the occasion to teach anti-waste good habits.   By bike Every week, 6 days on 7, food leftovers are collected in sustainable partners, bio supermarkets and luxury bakeries, by our team of volunteers. Thanks to our four cargo-bikes, we do our best to have the best impact on the environment, and a carbon footprint almost near zero!   A motionless voyage Since January 2018, our culinary travel goes on with a cultural night where people gather to attend concerts, exhibitions, lectures of poems, screenings of short and less short movies, debates... Allocation of funds

This crowdfunding campaign aims at sustainable the project for another full year. 10 brunches and cultural events will therefore be organised throughout 2018-2019. Each brunch has a cost of 450€. Why 450€? Spendings for each editions are distributed as follows: <ul> <li>120€ for the team collecting food leftovers (6 days/7) </li> <li>100€ for the cook (a citizen sharing a recipe from his/her own country)</li> <li>100€ (and ofter more) for printing and material used to set up the cultural event</li> <li>70€ used to buy essential food products needed to cook traditional meals</li> <li>50€ for the cleaning team</li> </ul>   Because the project asks for time and energy, volunteers already receive a compensation for their support (a basket of bio food products and some 'YES', a currency created within the project which allows them to go home with a booklet or postal card, or to get drinks during events we organise). Last but not least, in case we would manage to go beyond our target, money raised will allow us to repare our cargo-bikes or (even better) to pay for the artists and volunteers who are helping us all along the year! <hr /> Please note that a small part of your contributions will be deducted by the crowdfunding platform KissKissBankBank (8% as its percentage and 3% for banking transfers).
