Fighting Fire with Fire

<p>  </p> <p> This is a project by Emerge Editions (A new Non-profit initiative by <a href="http://www.emerge-gallery.com/" target="_blank">Emerge Gallery</a>) for publishing artist editions in order to <strong>reveal and promote two fantastic photographic art works made by Sarah Maple</strong>, a young and unique British artist.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="" src="http://ulule.me/presales/3/6/4/11463/logosmall_jpg_640x860_q85.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>WHO IS THE ARTIST?</strong></p> <p> Our artists are often with roots in MENASA countries, exploring and discussing new horizons of creativity through their contemporary vision. This new movement of contemporary art in the Middle East reflects the age of change and freedom of expression in an emerging world that we proudly presents in Europe through our Gallery program at Emerge.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="" src="http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ly0l9hhFOl1qzuatro1_400.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>Sarah Maple</strong> is the first artist selected by the Emerge Editions committee for limited art editions. These will be<strong> numbered and signed by the artist</strong>.</p> <p>  </p> <p> In 2007, Sarah won the "4 New Sensations" competition for emerging artists, run by Charles Saatchi, famous collector and art dealer. Since then, Sarah’s artwork, films, and performances have been exhibited in New York, Canada, Israel and throughout Europe.</p> <p>  </p> <p> Sarah describes herself as, <strong>“an artist, feminist, activist</strong>”. Exploring cultural issues that has experienced growing up as a Muslim in the south of England, her art is related to gender, sexuality and religion with a hint of provocation and a huge sense of humor. Her work represents an identity quest for a young British Muslim growing in a mixed family with very few fellow Muslims around, except in her own family. Her work explores complex issues in a comical and light-hearted manner which appeals to a large audience. </p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="" src="http://www.researchanddesign.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/poster_-_signs.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p> With her <strong>powerful but easy language</strong>, Sarah proves that contemporary art is not only for the elite in society but is for people from all walks of life. This is very important for Sarah who sees <strong>art as a form of activism</strong>.</p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Logoemerge" src="https://kkbb-production.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/project_image/image/37829/LogoEMERGE.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p> Beginning in September 2013, we are launching <strong>Emerge Editions</strong>. This is a new chapter supported by a group of art professionals who advise and help us exploring new artists which are presented to the <strong>Emerge Editions Committee</strong> that selects one artist every term (three months). Emerge Editions aim to finance 4 to 6 artists every year in order to produce <strong>archival quality print editions </strong>and other series of publications in the form of monographs, creative book formats, and large scale print based works.</p> <p>  </p> <p> Emerge Editions will work on a non-profit basis. Through sales of Editions, artists are financially supported and part of funds collected by sales of these editions is invested in developing our upcoming projects and their production.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>WHY ASK FOR CROWD FUNDING?</strong></p> <p> Emerge Editions being a non profit initiative believe in notion of<strong> exchange and sharing</strong>. We aim to develop a new movement of art and communication with your help. This Crowd Funding campaign is a first step to incorporate <strong>large number of supporters</strong> who enjoy contemporary arts and would like to fund us today to share our success tomorrow.
