THE STORY ICELAND Thrash metal band from Paris was formed in the early 90s. The group quickly became a staple of the local scene thanks to speedy and powerful songs cut for the live. In 1995 the first eponymous album was released, and was released on the Media 7 label, which included bands such as Judas Priest and Motorhead among others in its catalog. Hailed by the specialized press of the time, Iceland began to acquire a certain notoriety. This allowed the group to do about 200 concerts throughout France with national and international artists. For all these years the 1995 album has become cult for Thrash lovers of this period, and highly sought after around the world. In June 2021, Ziac, Bernard and Phil, founding members meet on the stage of a bar to jam. The machine is relaunched, and quickly they decide to revive Iceland from its ashes. THE PROJECT ICELAND, decided to re-record their first album released in 1995. Pre-production recording starts at the end of 2021. ICELAND calls on the world's finest drummers to participate in this album, such as: Franky Costanza of the Bronx Drums, Dirk Verbeuren of American band Megadeth Aurel Ouzoulias from the Môrglbl band to provide the batteries. In 2022 the recording begin The album will be produced by Jaff, a lifelong accomplice of the band THE BAND ZIAC Founding member of ICELAND, Ziac is one of the two guitarists of the band, he is responsible for a good number of riffs present on the album. BERNARD Bass since 1991, Bernard has been a driving force in the reformation of the group, the sound of his bass gives great power to the songs. PHIL Singer guitarist and founding member of ICELAND, Phil's powerful and melodic voice gives the songs a style oscillating between Heavy and Thrash. THE DRUMMERS DIRK Dirk is a long time friend, genius drummer, he is currently the drummer of the American band Megadeth FRANKY The French Metal drummer, his precise and powerful playing will give Iceland's songs an exceptional dimension. AUREL Aurel's fine and powerful style will give the songs a new color. THE PRODUCER JAFF Jaff is a French producer, based in the Val d'Oise, friend of the group since the beginning, he will put all his experience to the realization of this album. After 24 years of silence we wanted to get together again and share this crazy adventure with you, we need you to finalize our album, propel us on stage, and see you again in concert in order to relive together the sensations of 90s.
