Lost in the waves - short movie

We are very happy to present you our project Lost in the waves ! Help us make it possible by participating in its financing. WHO ARE WE? We are Franck Marchand and Joss Berlioux, a writer-director duo. In 2022 we founded "Les Casquettes" and started creating films together. We started with a 48HFP contest (where you create a movie in 48 hours) and won the prize for Best Film in France with our film "L'ascension". We continued by participating in the contest "Paris Courts Devant", followed by the Grand prix Canal +. Since then, our short films have been bought by several TV channels (Canal +, TF1). Our objective is to become professional with our future projects. We are currently writing and preparing a series and a feature film. WHAT IS LOST IN THE WAVES ? Lost in the waves is a dramatic short film, written by Joss Berlioux, inspired by a feature film written by Anastasia Martin & Roel Dirven. It is about the relationship between a brother and a sister, who meet again after 8 years - and after a tragic event, will be confronted with their past. In the middle of this already complicated relationship, a third character will be introduced. This is Jacob, who will then push our two protagonists into a love triangle. Our references go from Tree of Life, to Sea of time, Shame, Manchester by the sea, Just the end of the world & Handmaid's Tale. OUR ACTORS Anastasia Martin had her breakthrough role in 2019 as Alisa von Vamalia in the BCC TV series ‘Heirs of the Neight’. She later went on to star in ‘In From The Cold’ (Netflix), the war drama ‘Wolves of War’ and starred as Beth in the 2022 revival of ‘Little Women’. Roel Dirven started his career in 2009 as Raphael Salomons in the Nickelodeon TV series ‘The House of Anubis’. He later went on to star in a variety of tv series and movies, such as: ‘Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden’, ‘Queer Amsterdam’, and ‘De Zevende Hemel’. Roel made his international debut in 2021 with the role of Mat Benvenuti in the HBO Max series ‘The Mopes’. We are currently looking for our Jacob. More news soon! LOCATION OF THE STORY In our wildest dreams we would like to shoot in an old house, near the ocean or the sea (Brittany, Vendée, Normandy, etc...)
