MAOW 2019 Edition
Support Maow: a book featuring 50 talented artists + a great spring exhibition in the heart of Brussels!
MAOW 2019 Edition
Founded in 2012, Maow is an art platform where art and design coexist and confront each other in the form of a limited edition printed book. The project has earned a small reputation by supporting emerging international artists in artistic fields such as illustration, sculpture, painting, photography and more.
Each year, the duo book + exhibition highlights 50 artists carefully selected by a small Belgian-French-Swiss jury based in Brussels who share an aesthetic combining the codes of graphic arts and subcultures.
Maow will organise a collective exhibition in Brussels in June 2019. The artistic meeting place named LaVallée will host the event and the artists of the book wishing to showcase their works. From craftsmanship to graphic art, through illustration, painting or even silkscreening, this event will be an opportunity to celebrate the freshly printed book as well as share a good moment between artists, public and organisers. On program: summer vibes, music, food tasting and beautiful meetings!
The opening night is scheduled on Friday 7 June 2019 from 7pm. The exhibition will be open on the afternoons of Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 June 2019.
Based in Brussels since 2009, Anna has imagined Maow to bring together the many creative talents around her. The project took the form of a book and a collective exhibition. Both graphic designer and artistic director, she combines art and design in her current work to communicate ideas through graphic concepts.
Originally from Switzerland, Pauline works as a landscape architect in Brussels. Fan of art and artistic projects, she has participated in the development of the project since 2014. She helps organise and develop it by coordinating various events such as launching parties and exhibitions.

Allocation of funds
The goal of that new edition is to create a community and participative event, in a friendly atmosphere: to print a quality book, both original and eclectic, then to organise an exhibition promoting talented artists in Belgium. The organisation requires money, which is why we come to you today via this crowdfunding platform.
The money raising will help printing the book in 200 copies and producing the nice rewards such as stickers, postcards, tote bags, bookmarks, posters... It'll also help to cover the costs of event communication and the cost of venue renting. The budget also includes the costs of shipping to our dear donors, as well as the KissKissBankBank commission of 8%.
- If we exceed €3200 – oh yeah – we will have the pleasure to add to the program some super workshops during the weekend of the exhibition. Additional funds will be used to pay the performers.
- If we exceed €3700 – maximum excitement – we will be so happy that we will organise a second exhibition in another European city!
