Marseille Allogène

It has been ten years since I set my eyes on Marseille, my adopted city. I have explored this luminous territory in my own way, seeking in the city and its colors what reveals its splendor to my eyes. Being on a journey at home, that is the feeling that has accompanied me throughout the development of this project. Step by step, photo after photo, it is also what I finally see come to life in this book. Street images, life images, as fragile as fleeting, like all those moments that, strung together, make up the spice of existence. I photographed the energies and this palette of colors that, to me, are Marseille. Through the 78 photographs of this book, I tell the story of this city and my relationship with it. This beautiful paper object will be printed in the south of France, at Escourbiac, an award-wining printer specialized in photo books. Here are the main features: • 20x25 cm format (landscape) • 120 pages printed in quadrichrome offset on SYMBOL TATAMI Ivory 150 g/m2 paper • Cardboard cover on Imitlin E/R Aida Neve 125 grs Fedrigoni / textured appearance • Blank Sirio Milkshake 210 g/m2 guards • Exposed spine binding, to allow the book to open perfectly flat and fully appreciate the photographs. (This binding has been thought out in the smallest detail: the spine of the book will be whitecolored only by the orange thread of the binding). The revue EPIC team was present by my side throughout the development of this project. The artistic direction and object design were carried out by Jean-Matthieu Gautier; Cloé Kerhoas Özmen contributed to image sequencing and editing; Ambroise Touvet and Éléonore Simon ensured project monitoring. For 15 years, I have practiced intuitive street photography, where I play with shapes, colors, and stories that life presents to me.. I sought to photograph lightly but deeply, using the illusion of reality to invent my universe. My work has been published in M magazine, Courrier International, revue EPIC, LFI, among others. It was presented at the Voies Off Arles 2016 and exhibited at the Leica Marseille Gallery, among others. I was a laureate of the Miami Street Photography Festival 2019 and among the laureates of the LensCulture Street Photography Awards 2016. Follow the project on Instagram.

Allocation of funds

By pre-ordering the book Marseille Allogène, you simply allow this beautiful dream to come true. It is also thanks to this campaign that I will be able to: Launch the print order with Escourbiac, the printer in Tarn (which includes the purchase of paper, photogravure, printing, binding, and finishing...) Pay the various contributors to this project Pay myself as well - because designing a book is a job where you don't count your hours. If the project reaches 150% of the goal, we will be able to print a larger number of book copies.
