Nina & Yuri is an innovative platformer developed by Tiny Studio, a studio made up of five passionate young developers, whose concept was born during a Game Jam in 2022. You play as Nina, an adventurous gardener who must save her fiancé Yuri, kidnapped by the royal guard. Set in the magical and troubled kingdom of Hédrac, the game uses an original mechanic of switching between 2D and 3D to solve puzzles and fight enemies. The funding on KissKiss aims to enable us to produce a more complete game with richer gameplay and bring the game to Steam, itch.io, and potentially Nintendo Switch. By supporting this project, you will receive exclusive rewards and help realize this captivating adventure, which will progress through three stages: 2023-2024: Project preparation and demo creation (This is done) 2024: Fundraising (This is where we are now!) 2027: Game release on platforms (This is our goal!) Get ready to embark with Nina and Yuri on a surprising and poetic adventure! Cross the different regions of the Hédrac's kingdom, solve puzzles and fight a curse to find your beloved fiancé! Nina & Yuri was born during a Game Jam (a video game creation competition), in which it won the first prize as well as the second prize in the Newbie category of the 3rd edition of the Game Cup 2022. THE GAME Nina & Yuri is a platformer mixing 3D and 2D. You embody Nina, a young adventurous gardener who must save her lover, Yuri, kidnapped by the Royal Guard. During her quest, Nina will have to use a mysterious power allowing her to switch from 2D to 3D. This mechanic will require you to analyze your environment under a new light to triumph over the puzzles and enemies that will get in her way. THE OBJECTIVES THE KINGDOM OF HÉDRAC Hédrac's Kingdom is full of mystery and magic. From a peaceful forest to a bay sheltering a treasure, Nina will be able to discover places forgotten by all, along with villages filled with curious inhabitants. Previously united under Queen Hortense’s yoke, the inhabitants of the kingdom led a peaceful life. However, ever since the appearance of strange plants on the borders of the world, some regions have become hostile, unfortunately putting their inhabitants at risk. The queen locked herself in her castle shortly before the appearance of these plants. Naturally, the inhabitants started holding her accountable for this evil and some even plot to dethrone her. GAMEPLAY The final version of Nina & Yuri will keep many things in common with the jam version. Indeed, it will always be a platformer mixing 2D and 3D in which reflection will have an important place, especially with the use of the central mechanics: the switch. However, you will have access to more skills and gameplay mechanics, making Nina’s adventure richer and more captivating. In her quest to save her fiancé, Nina will get the power to switch between 2D and 3D. This ability remains central in the game and will be necessary for our heroine to overcome obstacles blocking her path, whether in puzzles, fights, or platforming During her adventure, Nina will explore the kingdom of Hédrac, discovering fascinating regions and mysterious places. She will also meet many colorful characters who will help her or obstruct her path Nina & Yuri being a platformer, our heroine will have to rely on her address to be able to free Yuri. For this, she will be able to count on many skills that she will learn throughout her adventure In addition to her movement skills, Nina will also get weapons and abilities that'll allow her to face the enemies who will try to block her path, whether they are simple monsters or terrible bosses Nina’s agility and weapons will not allow her to overcome all the obstacles she will encounter. Indeed, many places of Hédrac include puzzles that will require our heroine reflection and ingenuousness. THE CHARACTERS THE REWARDS By pledging the development of Nina & Yuri, you will have access to the following rewards: All rewards are cumulative with the exception of the Message in a bottle pack which does not give you access to the Pet pack. For example, if you pick the Treasure pack, you will have access to all previous packs. If our bonus goal is reached, Nina & Yuri will also be available on Nintendo Switch! If the opportunity arises, we do not exclude the possibility of porting Nina & Yuri to other distribution platforms ROADMAP This planning remains provisional, although we would like to comply to the dates. TINY STUDIO Tiny Studio is a French independent video game studio formed in 2023 by five young video game's creator. Our team includes technical and artistic profiles with various backgrounds and sensibilities.
