PeerTube, a free and federated video platform
Take back the control of your videos! Help us acheive a decentralized video hosting network, based on free/libre software.

Successful
Because we have nothing to sell!
If we offered T-shirts, stickers and other physical rewards (which involve shipping costs), it would have a financial (and human) cost that would add to the objective of this crowdfunding.
We prefer to consider your participation in this campaign as a donation, as a contribution to this free-libre software, which everyone can use, study and adapt to their convenience.

To help us finance the evolution of this software, but also to make it known outside the French-speaking world.
We derive no financial benefit from developing this software and making it known.
Our objective is purely militant: we want an alternative to YouTube and other centralizing platforms. And we want it to be an ethical alternative that respects everyone's data and freedoms.

Certainly not today, and probably not tomorrow! But it is something we imagine and hope for in the long term.
PeerTube is a project with strong potential, because with its principles of federation and peer-to-peer streaming, it is designed in contrast to centralizing platforms, and challenges their hegemony.
The idea is to create a virtuous circle: the more features this software will have, the more people will be interested in it, and the more people will want to contribute to it (for example by coding THE thing they miss!).
It won't happen overnight, but as we they say in Framasoft: "The road may be long, but it's a free way!".
(free as in "free speach", of course ;) )

Yes: it's beautiful, isn't it?
The animation video and illustrations were created by the non-profit LILA (LIbre comme L'Art - libreart.info), more precisely by Aryeom assisted by Jehan.
We were delighted to work with them on this order, because in addition to being free-culture activists (their creations are under free-libre license) they are great professionals.
If you like their work, don't hesitate to check out their ZeMarmot animation project, which is beautiful! ( film.zemarmot.net)

The best is to ask them directly on our forum to discuss them with as many people as possible: https://framacolibri.org/c/peertube
