My photographs accomplished as a child with disposable cameras, displayed as artwork.
I designed an exhibition with old photographs that I made as a child. These are the kind of photographs we eventually throw away, so here I made the decision to do the opposite and highlight them. I believe we don't even really look at them. To discover the exhibition is to do so and wonder how to set the standards... It's a bet. Do you want in on it ?
Three disposable cameras,
Three summer camps
A single photographer of 12, 13 and 14 years old.
An invitation to cast aside conventions.
Herein, no quest for perfection, no masters practice and no artistic statut for the photographer. But the gaze of a child and the wonder, the oddity of these cameras, reveal a peculiar beauty.
Learning to stare at them is at the heart of this project… A powerful way of emancipation still.
