<p dir="ltr"> <em>Hey, passionate bikers, beginners or on the way to be ? You just bought a new motorcycle and you want to change your exhaust ? However, you are a bit lost because you don’t know which models can fit with your motorcycle, how to choose, or where to search ?</em></p> <p dir="ltr"> Welcome onboard, we are going to change that and help you find out the exhaust you ever wanted.</p> <p dir="ltr">  </p> <p dir="ltr">       <img alt="Paf_images_fundraising3-1473117442" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/347257/PaF_Images_Fundraising3-1473117442.jpg"></p> <p> <strong>The Pot’au-feu team</strong> started from a simple fact : when you buy a motorcycle, most of buyers want to change their exhaust for the following reasons :</p> <p> - Look</p> <p dir="ltr"> - Performances (weight, power curves)</p> <p dir="ltr"> and last but not least</p> <p dir="ltr"> - Sound (sweeter to hear, security, etc.)</p> <p>  </p> <p dir="ltr"> When he has to find out an alternative, the biker’s choice will be leaded by the price, friends or dealer advices for example. Despite this fact, for now there is no website, no independent database allowing to find out and <strong>compare all exhaust references</strong> for a given motorcycle. That’s exactly what we want to offer with Pot’au-feu by giving all the exhaust details :</p> <p>       <img alt="Graphiqueelementspot-1473612393" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/348765/graphiqueElementsPot-1473612393.png"></p> <p>  </p> <p dir="ltr"> The big part of the job we want to achieve is to let bikers to listen to <strong>all available exhausts</strong> on <strong>any</strong> motorcycle.</p> <p>  </p> <p dir="ltr"> If you already have bought an exhaust, you know how hard It is to choose and listen to <strong>quality sounds</strong>. Few brands allow you to listen to some of their products but not all. Moreover, available videos on internet don’t have a great sound and are not recorded within the same conditions (equipment, noise level, mic position). A fair comparison between brands and exhaust models is impossible. You can try but you may find a Burgman 125 with default factory exhaust that makes more noise than a GSXR-1000 without exhaust ! We did the same record with 3 different recording systems : a recent smartphone, a GoPro 3+, a professional mic and finally the equipment we have rented (and we will buy thanks to you). This is normal because a phone mic is tailored for conversations, GoPro despite an excellent image quality will smooth the sound for a universal use, professional mic targets voice conversations while our mic was specifically built for this kind of use.</p> <p>  </p> <p dir="ltr"> Thanks to a strict sound capture protocol (same equipment and record conditions) and a high-tech equipment, Pot’au-feu will give you all you need to choose THE exhaust you ever dreamt about. The protocol is well defined and the equipment we need has been kindly loaned by Nicolas C from HEAD-acoustics to be able to start the records. If you decompose the sentence you have the word “pot” which is a synonyme of exhaust. The word “pot” in french is also similar to “pote” which means friend. Then you have “feu” which means fire but also can be used for a traffic light. To sum up, literally It means “Exhaust at fire” which is similar to “Friend at traffic light”.  It also makes reference to one of  the Pot’au-feu team whose motorcycle makes some flames !</p> <p dir="ltr">  </p> <p dir="ltr"> <img alt="Paf_images_fundraising-1474153772" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/350572/PaF_Images_Fundraising-1474153772.jpg"></p> <p dir="ltr">  </p> <p dir="ltr">  </p> <p dir="ltr"> <img alt="Title_-_by_and_for_bikers-1474241468" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/350747/Title_-_By_and_for_bikers-1474241468.png"></p> <p dir="ltr">  </p> <p dir="ltr"> The idea comes from <strong>Maxime</strong>, 28 years old, developer, gamer, streamer but also biker for almost 8 years ! - rides on GSX-R1000 - “This idea kept running through my head for a while. That expression on motorbikes and large cars we see in the eyes of the little ones has never left me .As soon as I hear a motorcycle in the distance, I cannot resist and wait to see and listen to It. When I see a biker go to his bike, I expect he starts It to continue my way : I want to hear It ! In short, I love it and this project was close to my heart. Unfortunately, working alone on it and without the necessary funds, it was very complicated .”</p> <p dir="ltr">  </p> <p dir="ltr"> This is where <strong>Thomas</strong> entered the scene : former colleague of Maxime, developer, biker, he didn’t wait to work on It. - Rides on GSR750 - " Happy owner of a GSR 750 , I quickly wanted to change the factory exhaust because I did not like the sound. And we must recognize that when you have a beautiful bike , we like it to make a nice sound . This was followed by hours of research on forums, youtube ... In the end the choice was still complicated, there were so many possibilities : Akrapovic , Yoshimura , Mivv , Arrow etc. That's why I think that Pot'au-Feu. is a great idea. Now, I ride with a Yoshimura R11 exhaust , the sound is great ! Nevertheless, Pot'au-Feu would have allowed me to find the same or even better sound while sparing me hours of research and doubts. "</p> <p dir="ltr">  </p> <p dir="ltr"> <strong>Stouf</strong>: Creative director, marketing consultant but also biker ! - Rides on CB 1000 R "Considering the current context and the mood easily falling down, I told myself that giving a hand to a cracked helmet young band was not a bad thing ! Especially as the really good ideas are scarce, finding talented twisted to carry them out was even more ! For those who don’t know the practice of motorcycle, I would tell that it should be paid by countries as magic trick to enhance happyness.
