<h3><strong>Midnight Cassette</strong></h3> <p>Midnight Cassette is a Brit-French-pop-rock band led by the velvety vocals of their runaway English singer, Amy Winter. The three French musicians that accompany our silky-voiced heroine add an eccentric touch of vintage brilliance and have the capacity to turn these soulful nostalgic songs into wistful journeys through cinematic landscapes. Get ready to be simultaneously shaken and soothed by pop songs from the heart that beat a path from the rolling hills to the small-town nightclub.</p> <p>The four musicians are well-known regulars in Lyon&rsquo;s modern music scene - having played together for many years in other bands (Electric Mamba, Electric Safari, Brainbow, Too Many Monkeys, Gloria). After forming Midnight Cassette in 2018, the members are excited to bring out their first album which is set to be released in April 2020.</p> <p><img alt="" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/624613/ProfilepicLOW-1571256090.jpg" width="100%" /></p> <p><em>Photographs - Anne-Laure Etienne</em></p> <h3><strong>The first album</strong></h3> <p>This August they booked a recording session in Lyon&rsquo;s Studio Magneto where they recorded ten songs in the full heat of a southern French summer. They were accompanied by sound engineer and producer Giles Davenport.</p> <p>The melodious songs are mainly composed and written by Amy and then brought into full glorious technicolour by Pierre, Tim and Lucien and their flair for vibrant instrumental arrangements. Vintage drumkits, amplifiers and organs add boisterous character to the sweet harmonious backing vocals, warped effects and a vivacious rhythm section.</p> <p><img alt="" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/624035/GilesLowRes-1571066576.jpg" width="100%" /></p> <h3><strong>Why we need you:</strong></h3> <p>Supported by their music label Moon Face and the Adami, a French organisation that backs artists and musicians, the band were able to raise enough funds to pay for their time in the studio and to complete their song recordings, however albums are not cheap to make and they won&rsquo;t be able to embark on the next step without your help&hellip;&nbsp; These days in the music industry, artists tend to make money from gigging and without having a first album to sell and promote, it is difficult to find sufficiently paid concerts in order to support the album production.
