Projet Jihane - Film
Two young women, two parallel stories, one true love! "Project Jihan" is a diptych of short films against homophobia. Thank for supporting!
Projet Jihane - Film
OUR PROJECT: Filming 2 short movies this summer: "Natural Love" ("Amour Naturel?") and "Jihane" to fight against homophobia rising.
We already shot a scene to make these teasers, now we need you to produce the rest of the story.
The diptych symbolizes the separation of two young women: Iris & Jihane. They love each other until the mother of Iris sends her daughter to a seminar supposed to "cure" her homosexuality.
Each short will focus on a character. The action of these films will be following one another but they will still can be viewed independently.
2 parallel stories, 2 young women, 1 great love story! An original concept for a sensitive topic.
Video presentation of the project by the team:
- NOTE OF INTENT
The idea of this collaboration happened last summer, when we first met at a party organized on a parisian barge by women's groups after the 2012 LGBT Pride. We were very shocked to learn that an association in France, organized a seminar on "restoration" to find a "healthy heterosexuality". We made it the starting point of our two films. We had a common desire to make a professional collective work that breaks stereotypes and fantasies about lesbians.
Even today, believable characters are underrepresented in the french media and fiction. We want to bring visibility and diversity on a universal topic with our sensitivity.
Why two short films? We want to be reactive to the rich and eventful news on gay rights this year. But directing a feature film is too expensive and too difficult because it takes several years in the making. The choice of the diptych seemed ideal because most short films festivals have a 15 minutes-length limit. We could not tell their stories in such a short time. Far from being a hindrance, this process serves the drama and provides a conceptual touch to the project.
Our films will be built on symbolism and metaphors of the "restoration" of gender, nature, life, love...
Both films will therefore be linked with visual and dramatic parallelism, and still retain their autonomy and individual identity.
Dealing with strong news on the issue of equal rights, this process allows us to question the notion of identity, gender, sexuality, but also society facts (suicide, homophobia, reconstruction...) .
We wish to enhance the Freedom of Love...
To realize this project WE NEED YOU!
To support us, talk about it around you, like and share this KKBB page and the facebook page, It's free and it counts a lot! ;-)
And of course donate from 1 €, help us achieve our goal !

"NATURAL LOVE?" 15min (what happened to Iris ?)
Iris and Jihane love each other.
"For her sake," Iris' mother enrolled her in a course of "sexualities restoration" proposed by the association "Natural Love". Hesitantly, she finally gave in to parental pressure.
At the center, with other students, she tries to apply exercises supposed to help her being "normal"
but lead Iris to violently reject Jihane.
Gradually cut off from the world, she sinks.
Jihane is angry.
She vandalized the headquarters of the association "Natural Love" supposed to cure youth homosexuality, but destroyed her relationship with Iris, her great love.
Jihane is sentenced to community service in a refinishing furniture workshop, with other young people in the same situation. She will make a decisive encounter with Fred and Agnélé, the owners of the place that will help her rebuilding herself.

Allocation of funds
Because you want to join a crazy adventure against homophobia still rising in 2013 when it should be history. But making films is expensive! We have already started the production by shooting a scene edited as teasers and our team is working for free on this project.
To achieve it, we need at least 6500 euros just to start filming
Your support will fund:
- The location of the filming equipment (camera, lens, traveling, lighting...).
- The lease sets
- The cost of transportation in the region, canteen and governance.
- a percentage goes directly to KissKissBankBank.
If we can get MORE than our goal, we can start shooting two movies in stride more confidently. This will allow us to rent more sophisticated equipment of higher quality, and improve the team and providers comfort throughout the shoot.
We would like to thank you in advance for your donations, comments, shares of this project page with your friends. You will help an independent and professional production to maintain artistic freedom, enriched by different experiences of its members.
