Jusqu'à sa rencontre avec Alex, un jeune homme perdu en quête d'aventures et de sens. Son parcours initiatique guidé par Rosa va lui permettre de s'affirmer, et à deux ils vont chercher un équilibre entre leur mode de vie souterrain, reclus, et la dure réalité de la « surface ».</p> <p>  </p> <p> <i>  Rosa is in her early twenties, and determinate in her despise for the « surface »; she lives underground and only goes aboveground to steal. </i><i>Until she comes accross Alex, a twenty year old in search of adventures and a form of meaning in his life. Rosa will lead and guide him through her world, and together they will try to find a balance between their seclusive undeground life and the harsh reality of the surface, on which they depend.</i></p> <p>  </p> <p>   Rosa Underground sera l'une des premières fictions de qualité professionnelle tournée dans les carrières sous Paris : inspirée de la vie du poète Jean Genet, l'histoire est un conte urbain moderne, un essai réchauffé par la passion entre nos deux voleurs.  Filmer dans un tel décor est une gageure, à mi-chemin entre le <i>street art</i> et l'exploration urbaine.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <i>  Rosa Undeground will be one the first professional fiction short shot in the quarries under Paris, the « catacombs », at the end of June 2014. Inspired by the life of French poet Jean Genet, it wishes to tell a modern urban tale about two thiefs and the passion which drives them. Being able to film in such an environment is a challenge to us, it ties together filmmaking, urban exploration and street art ; it wishes to expand the visual possibilites of indie film making, which according to us has lost a lot of its exploratory potential in the recent years.</i></p> <p>  </p> <p>   Nous souhaitons montrer qu'un film tourné dans les souterrains boueux de Paris peut être d'une grande qualité, visuelle et narrative. C'est pourquoi nous avons décidé d'être les plus rigoureux possibles en termes de préparation et d'organisation. Nous vous tiendrons au courant des différentes avancées du projet, du moment de votre contribution jusqu'à la sortie du film ; toutes les étapes seront documentées et diffusées auprès de l'ensemble de ceux qui soutiennent le projet d'une manière ou d'une autre.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <i>  We want to show that a film shot in the muddy underground tunnels under Paris can be of high visual and narrative quality, and hence we decided to be as rigourous as possible in terms of pre production and organisation. Ce second projet vise à approfondir la recherche d'un univers esthétique et moral souterrain, dans ses interactions avec notre vie urbaine quotidienne.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <i>Simon Beyer recently graduated from ENS Paris, his first short movie, </i>There Were Ruins on Every Hand<i>, was  shot in San Francisco in 2013 and dealt with the influence of the 1906 earthquake on a blooming passion between two young women.
