Mind My Gap is a multimedia project by artist-director-musician Rosto, several times awarded for his work at Cannes, Annecy, Amsterdam, Clermont-Ferrand, Ottawa, Hiroshima... It all started with a bunch of Rock’n’Roll songs which inspired an online graphic novel, which in turned spawned a series of short films, and then a collection of new songs. Rosto worked on this graphic novel from 1999 to 2014. He had always had in mind the project of adapting Mind My Gap into a physical object: a comic book or graphic novel containing the songs that inspired his whole visual universe. Just before Rosto’s passing in March 2019, he had completed the mock-up of the 210 pages of the graphic novel Mind My Gap and the recording and mixing of the thirty tracks from the double album Songs From My Gap, of his group Thee Wreckers. The graphic novel Mind My Gap and the two CDs of Songs From My Gap, as Rosto had imagined them, are now ready to be published. Mind My Gap was officially launched in 1999 with the publication of Map 1: Highway in a Dutch magazine. Taking advantage of the early days of the Internet, the graphic novel found its place online as a series of interactive flash films. Every episode was based on one of the songs by Rosto’s band, The Wreckers. <a href="http://www.mindmygap.com/" target="_blank">Mind My Gap</a> was an adventure for Rosto and his audience as the series was intuitively developed on the go. No one knew what was going to happen next … until it happened. By the time the graphic novel was concluded in 2014, the magazine had long disappeared, the web had evolved into a dominating household commodity and flash was considered obsolete technology. A trilogy of short films was first produced: Beheaded (1999), (The Rise and Fall of the Legendary) Anglobilly Feverson (2001) and Jona/Tomberry (2005). Allocation of funds

<h3>The sums collected during the campaign will mainly be used to: </h3> - Create and/or finalise the graphic elements (layout, visuals, booklets, menus) of these different objects (MIND MY GAP boxset, theTRETRALOGY DVD/Blu-Ray, Wreckers’ flipbook, SO FAR SO EVIL Vinyl), - Finance the printing of the Mind My Gap book and the Wreckers’ flipbook, - Finance the authoring of the DVD/Blu-Ray, - Finance the mastering of the double album and the Vinyl, - Finance the pressing of the CDs, DVDs, Blu-Ray Disks, and Vinyls, and also the printing of the different record sleeves and DVD/Blu-Ray covers, - Finance the packaging and transport of all these objects, - Create and/or finalise the bonuses of the DVD/BR,   - Set up the digital release of the double album Songs from My Gap (publishing costs, marketing costs). In case of an overachievement of the target, we will be able to make extra copies, and partly finance a French theatrical release of Thee Wreckers Tetralogy. //UPDATE\\ We have reached the first goal! Now we are aiming for the second goal of 150% as we will be able to finance a part of the French theatrical release of The Tretalogy in March 2020! We are hoping to raise another 5000€ to finance a part of the theatrical release but also to make other copies of MIND MY GAP and the rewards. <hr /> <h3>About Rosto</h3> <img alt="" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/624190/Portrait-Rosto-2011-1571126904.jpg" width="100%" /> Rosto 14/02/1969 – 07/03/2019 Rosto was a Dutch artist, director, illustrator, composer and musician. He founded his studio Rosto A.D in 1995 in Amsterdam in which he has directed a lot of short films, TV works and music videos (for Anouk and The Residents among others). (The Rise and Fall of the Legendary) Anglobilly Feverson in 2001 was the first short film that took the international festival world by storm resulting in worldwide recognition of Rosto’s work. The next short film Jona/Tomberry, winner of the Grand Prix Canal+ at the film festival of Cannes 2005, completed the trilogy of "Mind My Gap” films started in 1999 with Beheaded. Rosto was rewarded with the Visionnary Film Award in Sapporo Film Festival in 2015. An overview of the films and related works about Mind My Gap were exhibited at several international festivals, including Annecy in 2008 and the Museum of Modern Art, Ljubljana 2015. Music has always been the driving force in Rosto’s work. His work attracted the attention of international artists showing an interest in cooperating with the director. For his opus The Monster of Nix this resulted in collaborations with the Metropole Orchestra, The Residents, Terry Gilliam, The Do and Tom Waits. Rosto concluded in 2018 Thee Wreckers Tetralogy, a series of four musical films: No Place Like Home, Lonely Bones, Splintertime and Reruns (which was awarded in Annecy, Clermont-Ferrand, Ottawa, Anima). The documentary Everything's different but nothing has changed was added to the Tetralogy. Rosto passed away from illness at the age of 50 on March 7th 2019. <hr /> <h3>About us</h3> <img alt="" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/624191/ADM_pic-1571093165-1571128152.jpg" width="100%" /> Autour de Minuit is a film production company based in Paris created in 2001 by Nicolas Schmerkin. The company aims at supporting aesthetically innovative projects, and develops original graphic worlds with a solid content. Over time, the company began to explore other territories such as documentaries, music videos, fiction, virtual reality or young audience animation. Hybridization -at the heart of the artistic approach of most of the works born in the company- gives the opportunity to explore new ideas and sensations in plastic artand intent to provide with visuals never to be seen before. The company produced almost 70 shorts films which some are already classics: Obras, Flesh, Carlitopolis, Decorado, Peripheria, A Town Called Panic: The Christmas Log and Logorama. Since 2004 Autour de Minuit also dedicates its work to international distribution of animated films and digital experimentations, with a catalogue of more than 300 films. Autour de Minuit is the associate producer of the first Spanish animated feature film for adults by Alberto Vazquez, Psiconautas, and is about to begin the preproduction of his next feature film, Unicorn Wars. Autour de Minuit distributes all Rosto's films and has produced his four last films (The Monster of Nix, Lonely Bones, Splintertime, Reruns).
