It will make visible the red alerts on the map of the world, the actions implemented locally to be attached to solve, the problems solved through the intervention of users. This application will quickly become a source of information on the state of the seas and oceans, the number of alerts reported and the number of alerts resolved. It will give in real time an indication on the state of the seas and the oceans in different fields: plastic, chemical pollution, irresponsible tourism, fauna flora, injured animals ...

SOS freedivers will allow users to answer the question "What can I do on my scale to help preserve the seas and oceans?”

Indeed, many are apneists eager to make their contribution to the building. Instructors who roam the world and will be able to report everywhere where it is necessary to act. Everyone can then help locally by joining the proposed solutions.

Many local initiatives exist but struggle to make themselves known in the absence of referencing. How to become active at one's own level, to be involved in local initiatives during travels, or at home, to replicate the actions that work for all together to move from the local to the global by pooling our strengths in a single application?

Who are we?

Paula Bazilio comes straight from Portugal. She is the founder of the Belgian school Abyss Apnea and asked herself directly how to travel while acting as an apneist in 2018, when she organizes the first trip to the Maldives of the school, she notices how much It is difficult to find local associations working to preserve the oceans, and to join them when everyone wants to act. After a first rich experience with Manta Trust, she wants to offer the possibility to all the travelers of the world to contribute easily to the preservation of the oceans, and to give to all the associations the sufficient visibility to connect with the volunteers. Anyone can help, why not put it in place worldwide?

Marie-Lorraine Weiss is a Belgian French freediver instructor. She founded the Abyss Apnea school at Brussels with Paula Bazilio in 2017. She notices how easy it is to get freediving technical training pointed, but difficult to learn from the environment in which we evolve. She feels the desire to take action to protect an environment she has seen decline for 20 years, but does not know how to do it. After having worked alongside Manta Trust, and learned a lot thanks to the biologist of the association, she understands that to make sense freediving must also be put at the service of a cause. If this discipline is a way of life, it makes sense when it comes in all its dimensions. What greater urgency than to help save the environment in which we operate? All freedivers want to act, but how? The idea of SOS freedivers was born.

Allocation of funds

SOS freedivers, an independent tool worldwide

SOS Freediver is for everyone. Each user can locate the red alerts on the map and act on the proposed solutions. Each user can also view the statistics and have access to the problem solving curve: how many problems reported to the world in real time, how many solutions proposed and problems being resolved, how many problems solved.

Freediving and diving instructors from all walks of life as well as environmental professionals can point out the problems to be solved and put in place solutions.

All associations and professional structures working for the preservation of the marine environment may request access to inform their work. A problem can be solved by the ad hoc and local intervention of a human group, such as beach or seabed cleaning at a given moment, or by a sustained and structural commitment to lobbying, changing laws, continuing education.

The more the application will be used, the larger the photographic and textual data bank will become the largest and most comprehensible publicly accessible database on the state of the world's seas and oceans.

"SOS freedivers is the first mobile application to raise awareness of environmental issues and enable everyone to find solutions anywhere in the world"

Invest in SOS freediving

"Are you a professional freediver? Wherever you are, report in one click the environmental problems you encounter: pollution, plastic, injured animals, nuisances ... implement a local solution and gather the community to overcome it. Indicate the issues resolved around the world to measure our collective impact.

Are you an environmental professional? Report your activity and allow all volunteers around the world to support your initiative."

Paula Bazilio and Marie-Lorraine Weiss, CEO Abyss Apnea.

A unique application :

SOS Freedivers allows users to report issues related to the marine and ocean world.

What is the problem identified?

What local solution is existing or to be determined?

How to contribute to the resolution of the problem in question by joining the proposed initiatives?

How many environmental problems have been solved worldwide through the intervention of apnea professionals, the preservation of the oceans, and anyone who wants to make a difference?

Invest in SOS freediver and become an actor in the first application able to make visible all the ecological initiatives set up around the world. SOS freedivers will make everyone aware of the state of our oceans and the extent of the problems to be solved, but also the diversity of solutions applied, the possibility of replicating them. SOS freedivers can also be used as a resource center for the education of the younger generations around the world with the provision of videos, images, educational documents to make everyone aware and allow everyone to become an actor of our future through the one seas and oceans.

With thousands of images and up-to-date information from apnea professionals around the world, SOS freedivers will also be one of the largest existing apolitical databases.

SOS freedivers a necessary application :

Most people today are well aware of the extreme danger facing our planet because of the pollution we have generated, the massive destruction of our resources, the overfishing, the hunting of marine animals. all orders. How many species are endangered? We will not call the numbers here, they are so dizzy.

In the positive sense, there are many who wish to invest, to intervene on their own scale, to contribute to the global movement to save the few remaining resources. This application is intended for freediver professionals, professionals in the preservation of the seas and oceans, but also for individuals, freedivers or recreational divers, long-term travelers, all those who feel concerned by the state the waters of the planet, seas and oceans, rivers, streams ... To all students and researchers, teachers who daily give their time and ingenuity to allow all species to survive in harmony instead of exhausting our limited resources, to parents and their children so that they can give them to see, reflect and learn. This application aims not only to make visible the critical state of the seas and oceans, but also to turn the tide to make each actor of our future and the daily improvement of the situation. The application is also intended for teachers and their students to set up ecological projects on the same theme and make them visible on a large scale.

We believe that SOS freedivers will become indispensable to scientists and lobbyists and associations. This application responds to a need and fills a void. Everyone wants to make a difference without knowing how to do it. It is time to create connections and to make all local, national and international projects with a future, life, and balance visible.

Financing the application:

In the future we will have two sources of revenue to maintain the platform.

A free version of the application related to advertising.

A paid version released from advertising to allow users to enjoy an ad-free experience.

From the sale of ecological kits, educational materials symbolically paying online resources to ensure the technological maintenance of the application.

We will promote our application on social networks, facebook, twitter, intagram, youtube and ensure its international notoriety via a movie broadcast in the heart of the Ocean Film Festival but also international diving shows around the world, and that federations and private structures offering to discover the sport such as: AA AIDA, CMAS, DAN, SSI, PADI.

For what will served the angarition?

The first stage goal in late 2019:

The first step will be to set up a demonstrative application. The trip to the Maldives in August 2019 with Alessia Zecchini and Branko Petrovic will allow Abyss School and Focus Live to produce a documentary film to present the application and its operation to the general public. The app will be carried by the two strong voices of the world champions and freediver professionals to bring the community together around this project. During this trip the freedivers will go to sensitize the children of a school at Maafushi (Maldives) to their work, and teach them that thanks to the freeding it is possible to preserve the sea and the marine animals. Each child will receive an freediving kit (snorkel masks, fins) and enjoy a day of learning with world champions.

The second step, why give more?

Goal December 2020

The second step will allow our IT team to finish development of the application and make it accessible to users. It will also collect information about all professionals by using AIDA, SSI, AA, PADI, DAN .... wanting to use it in edit mode to begin to feed the base and to act.

And then ? Goal, constant evolution.

The application can continue its development provided the funding for hosting, maintenance, storage ... etc. hence a purchase price excluding advertising of 3.99 euros. The number of users and the actions implemented will be decisive in the developments that can be made to the application: support online information, open interaction and comments between users, develop educational databases accessible online, develop the statistical input at different levels such as the marine species census, connect the application to existing ones of other associations to further centralize information at all levels and build bridges to applications or relay sites ....

Together let's bring this project to life for the first stage of development!
