Sunny One - DAB+

Sunny One exists since October 01, 2022 in DAB+ (Digital Radio that will eventually replace FM in a few years) with current coverage between Bordighera/ Cap D'Ail. What is DAB+? The DAB+ (abbreviation for Digital Audio Broadcasting) is the digital successor of the FM. The ‘+’ meaning the global standard used for the DAB. In France, DAB+ is also known as digital terrestrial radio (RNT). You can pick up DAB+ anywhere on the air, free of charge and without subscription from a mobile operator. You will need a receiver compatible with DAB+ reception. With most digital receivers, you can still listen to the radio on FM. On the 'Receivers' page you will find the sales outlets for the DAB+ receivers. Analog FM transmission is increasingly meeting its capacity limits. The FM band is saturated in several regions of France. So there is no more room for new radios and therefore the choice of listeners remains limited. In DAB+, several radios transmit on a single frequency. These radios are grouped in a multiplex or together. A DAB+ receiver in turn divides the received multiplex signal into individual radios. That way, there are more radio stations that can broadcast their programs. So there is more choice for the listener. We have the opportunity to switch to a frequency offering a broadcast zone between Bordighera/ St Tropez always on this new standard, this in order to be obviously more listened to/ visible (with the possibility to collaborate more easily with local actors on the French Riviera.). This is why we need financial support for the cost of broadcasting and to supplement/replace our antenna cover with more striking jingles in order to really give the image that Sunny One wants to convey. But what exactly is Sunny One? The project has existed for many years in the shadows :) Indeed, if the project is only taking shape now, it is because we have always wanted to exist by being different from other commercial radio stations on the French Riviera. We could very well have started...cut and paste what all the regional and national radio stations are already doing and made our way by playing the easy way...but what interest? The vocation of Sunny One is to be a commercial local radio station having (certainly) similarities to the regional, national radio stations that you all know...(because we do not have the pretension to want to revolutionize the radio) by offering a varied musical programming (pop,electro,rnb) for a 25/49 year target but with "a different style" with our "homemade touch". Over the years, many of you have deserted seeing no longer listen to the radio at all for certain reasons...and I understand you! The desire we really want to convey with Sunny One is to restore the listeners' taste to love "their radio" (as it was a few years ago), not to be forced to zap between 36 radios and in the end not to listen to anything and then turn it off! Both for music and content... Our job is to go back to the basics, to propose a medium with a soul, an identity! To be the local in front! Our battle is for your radio to become a real companion on a daily basis, useful and entertaining! May she make you feel good by listening to her!
