The project

We are the class of 2012/2014 from "Le Lido circus arts center of Toulouse." The class consists of 14 students from 7 different countries; France, Spain, England, Israel, Brazil, Norway and Finland. During our time in the professional formation of Lido we have been developing our authentic artistic expression. We have done this through intensive personal research with monthly presentations before a live audience.

We will end the 2 year course with the creation of a show followed by a tour. The show will be our second collective creation, and as the final part of the course we are also responsible for organizing the tour and getting it on the road. We decided to start our tour here in the region of Midi Pyrenees in June and then fly to Israel to perform and give workshops throughout the month of July. We already have fixed dates for 6 shows and 3 workshops with another 10 possibilities still to be confirmed.

Unfortunately our funding request to the Toulouse city council which would have been used to purchase the plane tickets was denied. That is why we need your help! We are in desperate need of €4000 to complete our budget and realize our dream.

Why fund it?

Since the start of the project our goals were to go somewhere where our show would be a contribution of value to the artistic scene, as well as being able to share our expertise of the circus arts with the local people through workshops. Israel seemed like a perfect choice as contemporary circus is just beginning to develop and be acknowledged as an art form. With 3 Israelis in our class we already had contacts with circus schools and venues across the country.

After many months of hard work and dedication, the tour is all but organized and our dream is almost a reality, but with the unexpected rejection of council funding this dream is also hanging by a thread. Israel is waiting for us, but without your help we have no possibility of going.

All money received will be used only to make the tour possible and we will take no salary from this project.

So please help us go teach and perform some circus in Israel and remember, remain optimistic!
