Wearico is a new brand, made in Nepal using 100% natural materials like cotton, hemp and wool, hand-woven and using ancestral Nepali materials. I will work with a local artisan for making and creating the clothing. The project is supposed to be released with 30 items, all limited edition (15 pieces per item) by 3 months.
My 100% ecological and handmade clothes will initially be sold on my wearico ecommerce website
Why eco-friendly clothes?
We are all facing globalization and products manufactured in China with hundreds of chemicals. I decided to start a brand that will not only be a fair product but also ecological, a product that respect the man and the planet. Creating and choosing to wear a garment "eco" is above all contributing to fair and sustainable trade.
Supporting social and environmental actions while purchasing clothes with the design, material and finish of high quality, is now a possible choice for the discerning consumer. This complementarity between product quality and sustainability is the foundation of my philosophy of fair trade and organic wear.
Far more than clothes, it is a story to be told and a story to be inspired. I will be innovating using ancient savoir-faire and artisan expertise because I believe in the magic of the human touch and the beauty inherent in all that breathes. At wearico we believe in uniting with our roots and returning to the essentials: the human hand, ancestral knowledge and nature. We believe that with these simple tools, we can create, in a spirit of respect and sincerity, contemporary objects that withhold the unique quality and beauty of living things. Why making wearico in Nepal?
Designing clothes in Nepal is nothing close to eco-friendly you may think..shipping is one of the most polluting thing ? Well..shipping parcels is an important point of my business, and this is not as green as I would wish .. To remedy this, 1 tree will be planted in the Annapurna area for each transaction in a tree planting project here in Nepal. As I was born and I grew up in this beautiful country, I want to settle here in Nepal and can’t imagine myself moving to another country...By the way we are still decades behind in some domains, for example hand manufacturing is obvious here, no machines, no chemicals..
Why help me out?
Because I am motivated by my project, because it is good for the planet, the creations are beautiful pieces and they will be the quality level of your expectations, the trade is fair, the products are natural. . And there will be small gifts to thank you with all my heart for your contributions!
And after what will happen? Once my 30 piece of limited model will be launched, I would encourage young designers to participate in the project by providing to wearico their own designs .. they will be promoted on the online store and you will have the opportunity to purchase their creations .. also in limited edition.
