2021 - Le premier livre de Jack Solle

Documentary project that attempts to radiograph his time, 2O21 is an answer to the pandemic moment traversed by the idea of catastrophe, which now forms the backdrop of our imagination. Through back and forth between fiction and reality, this dystopia of the present explores the human being and its trajectory as a species, from the dawn of history to our future extinction. As the result of a collective effort, it has been developed in two distinct spaces throughout the year 2020; Martin Acosta’s Contemporary Documentary Photography Workshop and the second year of Photojournalism at the aRGra School, which is run by Emiliana Miguelez. I would also like to thank all my fellow students for their constant support. -------- THE BOOK With a print run of 75 copies, this book is an art object of artisanal production, the result of a collective effort. It has been developed in two distinct spaces throughout the year 2020; Martin Acosta’s Contemporary Documentary Photography Workshop and the second year of Photojournalism at the aRGra School, which is run by Emiliana Miguelez. Traveller from the outside as well as the inside, his photographic and audiovisual practice approaches the exploration of new territories. In Argentina, he covered the campaign for the legalisation of abortion and taught the power of the image to a group of teenagers from Villa 31, a slum in the capital, as part of the "Urban Voices" project of the Reza Visual Academy. Lately, his documentary approach has become more conceptual, through the development of works that reflect an anthropological and philosophical vision of our pandemic era.
