Born in 2008 in Lyon (France), CHROMB! is a quartet playing electric chamber music targeting emotive adults and insane kids.

CHROMB! owes a lot to John Zorn, King Crimson, Mats Gustafson and Melt Banana but prefers originality to discount tribute. The band allows itself everything, from brutal noise to pop songs, and keeps on melting Dada spirit and meticulousness.

We released our first album in 2012 (you can taste it HERE), followed by more than fifty gigs in France, Italy, Spain and Belgium, opening for Deerhunter, Mombu, The Oscillations, Young Marble Giants... on many different stages, from big festivals (Dancity, À Vaulx Jazz, Riddim Collision) to independant jazz clubs, alternative squats, theatres, and fields, next to super-great french bands (Ultra Zook, Kouma, Poil, SEC, Mucho Tapioca, Herr Geisha and the Boobs and many more...)

Since it started, CHROMB! commissioned its artworks from Benjamin Flao, big/tender french comic illustrator made of flesh and genius, who released most of his works at Glénat and Futuropolis.

In 2012, CHROMB ! received the Young Audience Award at the Jazz(s)RA contest, but still, CHROMB ! is not a proper jazz band, it constantly steals elements to electric/improvised/bizarre musics to build a dense and original sound. Ok dude ?

Anyway, after playing many gigs, we were invited to isolate ourselves two weeks in Saint-Claude (France), surrounded by mountains and with nothing to do but recording a new album with our beloved sound-engineer Jérôme Rio.
